fommes 153
Thank you! What's the best quality for Rogue Nation - mp3 or OGG?
Florian 4
Technically, the OGG should be superior but last year I did some side-by-side comparisons and couldn't see (in terms of frequency response) or hear any real difference in quality. Opinions may differ, however. fommes
A. A. Ron 1,742
The direct links to Mission: Impossible no longer as they've replaced the 56 track version with a 31 track version. Also, for those who managed to grab the 56 track version, tracks 28 and 36 were duplicates. I haven't seen the film, so I don't know if tracking was involved or if the studio just goofed.

deleted account 108
Tracks 28 and 36 of the first MI:RN 56-track FYC (FYC56) were duplicates because the director tracked the later sceneThere were all sorts of errors in the 56-track version. It's nice to have for completeness, but the new 31-track ver (FYC31) is more accurate to the film.If disney decides to pursue an Oscar for SW:TFA, they will have to create a cd with the score in film order, no concert versions, no suites, and NO ARTWORK (!) to mail to academy members. It doesn't have to be the complete score, but what is included must be the film version.

crumbs 14,306
War Horse, Tintin and Lincoln FYC editions all had unreleased music missing from the OST (thank goodness for 'Trumpet Hymn' and 'The Portuguese Plane'), so I'm confident TFA will be no different. Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
Let us not forget the greatest FYC of all time: A.I. Artificial Intelligence. I actually prefer that version to the LLL set because it contains less music and arranges the tracks in a bizarre order that improves the listening experience. crumbs
publicist 4,643
You must have considerable time resources then.
crumbs 14,306
The only logical listening experience for that score is consecutive playback of the OST, FYC and LLL Expansion. 6 discs of listening bliss.
deleted account 108
Why must there be no artwork?I assume it's to level the playing field and do as much as possible to get the Academy members to actually vote on the music and not just for who is in the film or who spent more on flashy album art... crumbs 14,306
Do they have to submit it to check its eligibility before actually putting it up as a FYC, or is this whole process just to make the nominations shortlist?I assume they'll announce the shortlist soon, for best original score. They already announced the shortlisted visual effects films.
