2015 FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION studio sites (featuring music)

Technically, the OGG should be superior but last year I did some side-by-side comparisons and couldn't see (in terms of frequency response) or hear any real difference in quality. Opinions may differ, however.

The direct links to Mission: Impossible no longer as they've replaced the 56 track version with a 31 track version.

Also, for those who managed to grab the 56 track version, tracks 28 and 36 were duplicates. I haven't seen the film, so I don't know if tracking was involved or if the studio just goofed.

Tracks 28 and 36 of the first MI:RN 56-track FYC (FYC56) were duplicates because the director tracked the later scene

There were all sorts of errors in the 56-track version. It's nice to have for completeness, but the new 31-track ver (FYC31) is more accurate to the film.

If disney decides to pursue an Oscar for SW:TFA, they will have to create a cd with the score in film order, no concert versions, no suites, and NO ARTWORK (!) to mail to academy members. It doesn't have to be the complete score, but what is included must be the film version.

Why must there be no artwork?

War Horse, Tintin and Lincoln FYC editions all had unreleased music missing from the OST (thank goodness for 'Trumpet Hymn' and 'The Portuguese Plane'), so I'm confident TFA will be no different.

Let us not forget the greatest FYC of all time: A.I. Artificial Intelligence. I actually prefer that version to the LLL set because it contains less music and arranges the tracks in a bizarre order that improves the listening experience.

I have added the new links for the MP3s and OGGs of the 31-track version of Mission:Impossible - Rogue Nation to the main post. I've kept the entry and links to the 56-track version for posterity's sake.

Do they have to submit it to check its eligibility before actually putting it up as a FYC, or is this whole process just to make the nominations shortlist?

I assume they'll announce the shortlist soon, for best original score. They already announced the shortlisted visual effects films.

Well, someone at Walt Disney (or at whatever sub-contractor maintains their FYC web sites) has a sense of humor!!

I was poking around the source code for their RSVP site and found a reference to an MP3 file named "01.mp3":

<div id="audioContainer">
<div id="playerUI" class="hide">
<a href="#" class="close">x</a>
<audio id="audioPlayer" src="./assets/audio/01.mp3" type="audio/mp3" controls="controls">
</audio>
<h5 class="header gfont">Listening to: <span>Audio</span></h5>
</div>
</div>

And here's what you get when you play it:

:lol2:

LOL. I am listening to the first track of the force awakens.

That would be fantastic! I'm monitoring it but as of yet, the currently "disabled" Music page has nothing more Williams' bio and an (old) publicity photo.

And when is The Weinstein Company going to add "Music" to its categories!!!

I manually re-formatted the main post after the message board update modified a few things.  If you run across any errors or odd formatting issues, please let me know.
