Though after 3 listens, I started to warm up to it a little bit.    I wonder if seeing the film will help at all

I think it will

heck, i remembered someone said it had good rating at rottentomatoes... and i went today to check how high it was...

And i'm bewildered... never seen a film with that high rating (i dont check all films though...)

In case anybody's curious, I dug up the ASCAP titles. Bolded indicates a cue we have through the OST (Stage Fight and Three-Toe Bandito are not on this list so likely have different names originally):

Just in case anybody was wondering what the Zootopia reveal might have been like had Giacchino written something for it. The piece is taken from the start of the Suite (though I do note there is a cue on ASCAP simply titled "Zootopia" but it might be the real name of "Stage Fright" or it might be referring to the Suite).

I think it works perfectly @Gistech I was looking forward to hearing what Giacchino might've done and then BAM! 'Try Everything' blares out. I don't have a problem with the song, I was just hoping for a score cue...

I personally think that it should have been treated as source music in this particular instance (you'd hear it through Judy's headphones for a moment), given we get a full sequence with the song at the end of the film anyway.

Don't get me wrong, it's by no means a bad score. I personally enjoyed it. But the best score of the year? That's a little too far.

I'd personally have picked Star Trek Beyond if they were going for a Giacchino score. As fond as I am off Zootopia, Beyond is definitely the superior score.

They mean "Best Giacchino Film Score Of The Year" right?

Nope. They picked it as their best score last year.

What were the other scores of last year? i don't remember!

Off the top of my head, Giacchino also did Star Trek Beyond, Doctor Strange and Rogue One. You also had Zimmer (who is also under ASCAP) doing Kung Fu Panda 3, Batman v Superman and Inferno to name a few.

The only reason I could think of Zootopia winning out over Star Trek Beyond is because it's an 'original' score and not one for an already-established franchise.

Of course you picked my least favorite one!

Nah, that ones not amazing, but LOST, Super 8, and his ST scores are

I just noticed the Vinyl of Zootopia has an unreleased bonus track: "Hill Street Zoos"

What if Disney releases the complete and expanded John Williams Star Wars scores, but exclusively on vinyl, with bonus tracks you cannot get anywhere else?

The way things are going, we'd be lucky if it received a physical release to begin with.

I'm actually genuinely surprised that this track hasn't surfaced anywhere. It's not on Giacchino's SoundCloud, not on YouTube, not on the "Usual Places".
