he will start doing a trilogy and end up doing a saga ;)

I wouldnt mind if he did the Shadow war trilogy (Willow continuation) even with WETA.

But i suppose after the hobbit he does not want to do any more fantasy films...

And yet it answers your stupid question. From google: A saga is "a long story of heroic achievement, especially a medieval prose narrative in Old Norse or Old Icelandic."

It can be part of the answer.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/saga

sa·ga noun \ˈsä-gə also ˈsa-\

: a long and complicated story with many details

: a long and complicated series of events

: a long story about past heroes from Norway and Iceland

Full Definition of SAGA

1: a prose narrative recorded in Iceland in the 12th and 13th centuries of historic or legendary figures and events of the heroic age of Norway and Iceland

2: a modern heroic narrative resembling the Icelandic saga

3: a long detailed account <a saga of the Old South>

I don't see an assigned number of "episodes" assigned to the term "saga." It could be one or a dozen, as long as it's long and complicated. If the saga consists of three episodes that tells a long story, it's also a trilogy.

Consulting a dictionary should have been the first course of action.

WETA should work on Star Wars.

They will someday. Mark my words.

I think they might be working on the spinoffs, provided James Cameron isn't hogging all the animators for his Avatar follow-ups.

Of course they will. At the rate Disney is going to start churning out Star Wars movies, ILM won't be able to handle it alone.

Let him go back to doing smaller films please!

Like .... The Lovely Bones? (which wsn't too shabby)

Can't they expand?

That's a bold statement here at smaug.com!

No it isn't.

And don't let my holiday Gandalf avatar fool you. PJ is not god's gift to film making by no means.

But please let us get back to the topic of gloomily waiting for the new SW film. We all know it won't meet expectations!

FIXED!

;)

Thanks. I forgot to add that actually.

More like Heavenly Creatures. But The Lovely Bones is not as bad as people make it out to be. And Tucci was great.

Much like the original JWFan, the site is mostly about hating on it's titular piece/composer/director, not loving them ;)

Screw "The Lovely Bones"! Let's have some more "Bad Taste", and "The Frighteners"!

I don't specifically remember the timeline for Episode I, but I feel like we comparitively have very little information at this point, just a little over a year from release. With the prequels I'm pretty sure we had character descriptions shortly after casting announcements (simple descriptions like "a young queen," "a Jedi master," etc), tons of official costume/prop shots - even if they just ended up being crates in the background or random soldier characters. At this point we basically have a cast list, a video of a waddling ostrich creature puppet, a video with an X-wing in the background, and a shot of the Millennium Falcon with the Batmobile stuck to it. (I'm not including leaked info, pics, art - since I've started to avoid that stuff now).

I'm sure things will loosen up a bit once the first teaser drops (hopefully by the end of the year), but I'm greedy for info now, dangit.

EDIT: I just realized this is the score thread. I meant to post this in the movie thread, since no worthwhile news about the film itself has surfaced. Out of nowhere, rare photos from the set of the original, REAL Star Wars film were posted to the internet. I thought this quite perfectly got the point across why none of the Star Wars films since the original trilogy has really mattered.
