I like all three new main heroes. I wished Poe was in it a bit more.

With Rey we get a series lead we can actually care about, not some silly kid who will turn first into a creepy stalker and later into a serial killer, so she gets my vote. JJ and Kasdan made me feel for her very early on, bartering for food, scratching off the endless days on a wall, apparently waiting for something.

It's all fairly obvious character stuff, but effective.

It's something that occurred to me during the opening scene with Von Sydow: There were actual characters having an actual conversation in an actual environment. The whole thing felt real, and yet it was a modern Star Wars film.

I was amazed by how effectively the new leads stood out from each other and how immediate their impact was. I cared for them.

Rey is wonderful. Truly happy they picked a female lead and obviously took care in crafting her character and picked a magnetic young actor to bring her to life.

Poe is that act first ask questions later type of character that can be annoying or ridiculous in the wrong hands, but they made him real.

Finn is someone I was really rooting for. Honest, wears his heart on his sleeve without being mopey, but still the emotional anchor. He has the biggest arc.

I'm extremely satisfied with the villain Kylo Ren, that's he's not one-dimensional.

I really like all the new caracters and the actors. I was sure I was going to enjoy Rey and Poe, and was surprised by Finn and Kylo. Cant´t wait for Episode VII!

I definitely wanted more of him, but I'm sure we'll have plenty by this trilogy's end. He made such a huge impression in those early scenes, Isaac exuded so much personality in those moments with Von Sydow and Kylo, and his instant rapport with Boyega was priceless. I couldn't believe how happy I felt when they hugged it out at the base. He's already a great, memorable character so I'm not too fussed about him having been wasted or anything.

And I have to say even though it's quite simple, JW's little hero fanfare was totally effective for me. Both of those times that it played I just wanted to stand up and fucking cheer, and it really worked as an extra push to endear me to both those characters (is it fair to say it's almost sort of a Poe/Finn "bonding" theme? The first time you get it during their TIE Fighter escape, and the second is Finn shouting out and watching him fly. Great moments!)

Yeah, I'm intrigued by Kennedy's comment that they have "big plans" for her. She was a total non-entity here. The villains aside from Kylo were pretty eh to me, but not nearly enough to overshadow how great the heroes are and the potential for Kylo.

Also I just have to say, Harrison was great here. I mean really, really great. I loved him so much in this.

Harrison was fantastic. He really gave it his all. The whole time the audience was rooting for him.

I want to say BB-8, but seriously I'll say Rey. I'm hooked on her character journey, and excited to see what challenges the writers will throw at her in future installments and how she'll develop.

The cynic in me dismisses her almost instant force power skill as a Mary-Sueish pandering to the progressive brigade, but I want to believe this is significant somehow.

I think people are a bit upset because the movie wasn't as self-contained as they were hoping, and as a result some of the characters they were looking forward to seeing didn't get a ton of screen time. I get it.

I anticipate that many of the characters that were built up in the press such as Phasma and von Sydow's will be fleshed out in the next film(s), by design.

I liked Kylo ren a lot. I think it could be because he has many layers. One minute he is calm and collective the next he unleashes a wave of rage upon anything, or anyone foolish enough to get in his way. He is terrifying because you don't know when he will snap. I loved Finn as well. Most of his lines cracked me up. Rey was a solid character, and what is there to say about Han Solo ;P Kylo is my pick though
