I just saw this on wikipeida:

Quote

On December 19th 2019, an over 6-minute long "Prologue" of the film was shown in front of international IMAX screenings of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

"See the trailer in theaters for maximum effect" - that's a new one

I've seen the opposite on TV, where a commercial runs for a film, and at the end it says "watch the full trailer on youtube"

Nolan's movies are full of dialogue, of all kinds. His lines are as endless as the space vistas of Interstellar.

Yeah, there's good and bad dialogue in his films. Some of his lines are so awkward and convoluted that it's almost impossible to say by a normal person. 😆

Nolan's smart. He knows people reach for their smartphone when there's no dialogue.

His worst dialogue sounds unnatural when spoken. Like it was written dialogue rather than  meant to be spoken.

Yes. Lucas has taught him well.

A lack of confidence in the audience?

Nah, I think he's well aware of how much these things cost and how much their success depends on average Joe being able to follow it.

What's interesting about Nolan is that not a single of his films bombed and he's been around for the past 20 years now. Even people like Spielberg can't pull this off.

But then again, Nolan hasn't strayed from his dramatic talky comfort zone like Spielberg and released dreck like The BFG. Every single one of his movies I've seen whether they deal with Batman, space travel or dreaming somehow has a similar feel.

Spielberg has a far more varied resume as a director.

Image a Nolan directed comedy? Or children's film?

I would like to see one day a children's movie directed by Nolan. Or Aronofsky. Or Tarantino. I mean, even Eli Roth did one, why not them?

I'm actually referring to this movie:

For Eli Roth to do a family friendly movie pairing Jack Black and a kid, he must've been really desperate for money. Maybe his gruesome torture porn movies were not lucrative anymore?

This poster, as well as the first of the two images posted above, are actually shot at the Oslo Opera House. As it happens, I had business in town when they shot it; as I walked past the Opera House, I noticed lots of closed-off  barriers and commotion on top of the roof (the opera house is designed in a way that you can walk all over it, including the roof). I didn't know then that Nolan & co. were there, but I was told later on. Very cool!

As for the film itself, it looks VERY intriguing by the looks of the trailer. Another 'mindfuck' film from Nolan. Love it! Certainly one of the films I'm looking forward to the most next year. Despite my disappointment in having Göransson as composer.
