Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Some people on Twitter are speculating the first trailer might come out next Thursday, probably along with TROS: https://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/1115128-trailer-for-christopher-nolans-tenet-coming-this-thursday
DiscmanD131 16 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I love how this thread keeps coming back to life :-)
Naïve Old Fart 13,232 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Two sharp-dressed men, standing in some sort of plaza. Wow. I'm impressed
Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Looks like Inception: The Next Mission for me.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 We need @crocodile to give his opinion, stat!
A24 5,257 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Do we? I mean, we know crocs will merely do his master's bidding.
Jay 46,795 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I just saw this on wikipeida: Quote On December 19th 2019, an over 6-minute long "Prologue" of the film was shown in front of international IMAX screenings of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Jay 46,795 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 "See the trailer in theaters for maximum effect" - that's a new one I've seen the opposite on TV, where a commercial runs for a film, and at the end it says "watch the full trailer on youtube"
A24 5,257 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Meh ... trailer doesn't do anything for me.
crocodile 9,800 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Could be great, could be not so great. Karol

crocodile 9,800 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Today I doubt everything. Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 So be it.... Jedi!
Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Yeah, it does seem a little like Inception 2. But I like Inception, so we'll see it. Chen G. 1
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 That voice over dialogue is kinda bad, eh?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Nolan's movies are full of bad dialogue. Bilbo and Xander Harris 2
Jurassic Shark 16,569 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 You could say it's his trademark.

Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 I only like bad dialogue when they become funny internet memes. That's why the prequels are so beloved! A24 1

crocodile 9,800 Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 Yeah, there's good and bad dialogue in his films. Some of his lines are so awkward and convoluted that it's almost impossible to say by a normal person. 😆 Karol

Like it was written dialogue rather than meant to be spoken.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 He also has the tendency of having characters explain the themes of the film in dialogue.
crocodile 9,800 Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 Such is a price of making high concept cinema. Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 A lack of confidence in the audience?
crocodile 9,800 Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 1 hour ago, Stefancos said: A lack of confidence in the audience? Nah, I think he's well aware of how much these things cost and how much their success depends on average Joe being able to follow it. Karol
Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 That's why his movies are always hits, while other "complicated" movies bomb at the box office.
crocodile 9,800 Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 What's interesting about Nolan is that not a single of his films bombed and he's been around for the past 20 years now. Even people like Spielberg can't pull this off. Karol
Xander Harris 9,808 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 But then again, Nolan hasn't strayed from his dramatic talky comfort zone like Spielberg and released dreck like The BFG. Every single one of his movies I've seen whether they deal with Batman, space travel or dreaming somehow has a similar feel.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,680 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Spielberg has a far more varied resume as a director. Image a Nolan directed comedy? Or children's film?

Jurassic Shark 16,569 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 The Holiday isn't really a children's movie.
Edmilson 12,603 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 I'm actually referring to this movie: For Eli Roth to do a family friendly movie pairing Jack Black and a kid, he must've been really desperate for money. Maybe his gruesome torture porn movies were not lucrative anymore?

A24 5,257 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 I've never been a Nolan disciple, Richard. You must be thinking of TGP ...

As it happens, I had business in town when they shot it; as I walked past the Opera House, I noticed lots of closed-off barriers and commotion on top of the roof (the opera house is designed in a way that you can walk all over it, including the roof). I didn't know then that Nolan & co. were there, but I was told later on. Very cool! As for the film itself, it looks VERY intriguing by the looks of the trailer. Another 'mindfuck' film from Nolan. Love it! Certainly one of the films I'm looking forward to the most next year. Despite my disappointment in having Göransson as composer. toothless 1
