Because of the way Dunkirk is set up, you could say that it's the 2001 of war movies and Ii's probably the reason why I liked it.

To me, it is not the color, but the framing that makes a film beautiful. Nolan just knows how to make something cinematic. There is something naturally beautiful about his film. People say that the Villeneuve's Dune films lacks color too. But to me, the way Villeneuve shot the desert and the sets is beautiful. It is the focus on simple contrast, geometric shapes, and scale. The last movie I was EXCITED about was Project Hail Mary. I'm not sure what movie I was excited about before that.
