Well? Let's see how many will put Rey's Theme as their number one (Rey may be my no. 1 hottest Star Wars girl, but her theme is definitely not my no. 1, as good as it is)...

5. Rebel Fanfare

6. Across the Stars

7. Princess Leia's Theme

8. Rey's Theme

9. Yoda's Theme

10. Droid Invasion Theme (TPM)

1. Anakin and Padme Love Theme - II
2. Darth Vader's Theme - V
3. Yoda's Theme - V
4. March Of The Resistance - VII
5. Han Solo and Leia Love Theme - V
6. Princess Leia Theme - IV
7. Luke and Leia Theme - VI
8. Luke's Theme - IV
9. Force Theme - IV
10. Tatoonie Theme - IV

My rationale - Higher points to themes which can be performed stand alone as extended musical movements without quoting any other themes or motifs. Luke's Theme and Force Theme were hurt in this regard. Han Solo and Leia would be higher but doesn't have a proper concert arrangement. And Tatoonie theme is last because again is a short movement and cannot be performed at length on its own.  This is just my rationale - I overall gave preference to melodic harmony and development as markers of strength of the composition of the theme.

Qui-Gon's theme

Han and Leia's theme

5 and 10 are not themes per se inasmuch they lack development/resolution.

Ben's Theme has a resolution, but it has not yet been developed like it could be.

It either gets quoted as slow or fast or modulated. That is it.

A Concert Arrangement is in order for this, and my version is 95% finished.

No, that'd be the Colonel Bogey March...

Colonel Bogey and The Jawa's Theme have absolute zero in common.

I love this version! Listening to it over and over again, and never get tired of it. This should have been in the concert version...

1. Luke's theme - I like it best when it's played slowly or in a minor key, like in Luke's first scene or when he's on Dagobah.

2. Ben's theme/force theme.

3. Rebel Fanfare - not really a theme but a motif. I love it, and also I love most scenes that it's played in. It even almost makes an appearance in all 3 prequels with the escape from Naboo track right at the beginning, used in AotC as the Clones Arrive and as the big ship starts to crash in RotS.

4. Rey's theme.

5. Resistance Theme

6. Imperial Theme

7. Yoda's theme

8. Han and Leia's theme

9. Leia's theme

10. Across the Stars

Um, I don't think it plays at all during those tracks you mention. Now that I think of it, the only times that I can remember off the top of my head that the Rebel Fanfare plays in the prequels is a couple instances during the space battle at the beginning of ROTS. It sorts of makes sense that it would be rarely used considering it's the Rebel Fanfare, but I always took it as more of a general heroes or good guys motif anyway (same goes for the main title/Luke's theme) especially considering it's part of the finale, so I wish that it had been included more in the prequels.

Key word almost. If you listen to escape from Naboo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBnkO3_yYso) you can sort of hear a few of the notes right near the beginning.

Exactly how I would 'feel' if my emotions are notes and melodies

1. *Luke and Leia

2. Han Solo and the Princess (The Rebel Fleet / End Title)

A little bit 'themy'

3. Across The Stars

4. Luke's Theme / Main Theme

5. Leia's Theme

6. Sail Barge Assault / The Return of the Jedi (I know there are several themes here...) ;-p

7. Anakin's Theme (Voice)

8. Mynock Cave (It's not really a theme but I think it's better than the action / suspense themes in other movies.)

9. The Asteroid Field

Too strong

10. The Trade Federation March

11. The Imperial March

*I like it best because I think it's the only one that's not themy. When I first heard it in ROTJ, I didn't instantly recognise it as a theme. It was so natural that I thought it would be how I score the Luke and Leia scene if I were the composer. It was like someone saying what's in your mind for you. That's why I believe John Williams is always the best film composer. I personally think Luke and Leia and The Shire / A Hobbit's Understanding are the best film music in the world. I could listen to Luke and Leia all day. It's magical!

Please forgive me for writing such a long post and possibly making many grammatical mistakes. It's really late now in Hong Kong. Thank you!

No, thank you for sharing your thoughts! And welcome to the forums! I too get a big kick out of Luke and Leia's theme. Here's hoping we get a reprisal in Episode VIII!

This is the Concert Version:

Is this a Williams recording/arrangement? Reading on those comments that it's an orchestration by Charles Gerhardt?

It is excellent though, had no idea it existed!

It's a completely original piece composed by Williams for TESB concert suite (other pieces are the concert arrangement of Asteroid Field, Imperial March, Yoda's Theme and End Credits). As far as I know, he never recorded it (sadly) and this is probably Gerhardt's recording, I think it's the only available one. I'm not sure about this, but I know for sure that it's a Williams piece. The comment about it being Gerhardt's orchestration is wrong.

And yes, it's an excellent piece, worth of the great score it comes from ;)
