No Time To Die (James Bond #25)

The onscreen smoking preferences of each Bond -

Connery + Lazenby - cigs

Moore - cigars

Dalton - cigs

Brosnan - just one cigar, in DAD

Craig - doesn't touch 'em, but to compensate is probably the hardest-drinking Bond of them all

I've just remembered the health warning about the use of tobacco products in the LTK end credits. Something to do with the detonator for the plastic explosive being disguised as a pack of Lark cigarettes (a real-life brand), I think.

No warning about how pissing off a ruthless drug lord mightn't be great for your health either, strangely enough  .

Like how people didnt like the look feel of shots in the Skyfall teaser?

I still don't really like the look of Mendes' Bond films.  Skyfall's strengths lie entirely with its actors' performances.

Skyfall is the best looking Bond film so far!

@Disco Stu is right: for the most part, the Bond films are competently made pieces of work, that don't attract too much attention to themselves. The overall intention is for the audience to say "That was a good film".

The Bond films aren't high art.

Yes, SKYFALL is a beautiful looking film, but so are YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, and GOLDENEYE  -  four films that I far prefer to SKYFALL.

John Glenn was a good director, who got the job done, time, and time, again.

I'm with Stu, in that the ostentatious cinematography of SKYFALL, is one of its least engaging aspects. It's not that it's not good - far from it! It's just that it's not Bond.

Personally, I like the last shot of the teaser. The rest is all

"ho-hum, seen-it-all-before" tosh.

I remember watching Skyfall on the theaters and sleeping for like, 5 minutes, during that scene on which Bond is on a casino.

Until this day I think the movie is decent, but a little overrated, and I can't think why it has been so acclaimed or how it earned over a billion at the box office. Maybe the competition that year was too terrible (Twilight - Breaking Dawn, the first Hobbit, etc)?

The opening chase on Istanbul and the fight scene on the train was pretty great, though.

The scene where he's talking to a smoking babe? I liked that bit.

I haven't rewatched Skyfall since seeing it in the cinema.
