The case for the defence rests, m'lud :)

it's been the Brosnan era since we last had the classic 'Bond and leading lady in the centre of the poster, surrounded by other characters and incidents from the movie' design.

In fairness, the CR teaser was pretty damn decent -

QoS is awful, but at least there was some good action scenes (as far as I remember, I haven't watched this movie in almost a decade).

The action scenes would be good, if they didn't look like they were edited by a three-year-old child, wearing boxing gloves.

Too bad EON didn't use Bob Peak's artwork, for LICENCE TO KILL.

That's one of the worst teaser posters I have ever seen. Looks like someone took a snapshot of Craig coming out of the loo, and says zero about the movie. Which might be an advantage at this point.

NO TIME TO DIE: New Details And Name Revealed For Rami Malek's Villain In JAMES BOND 25

We've seen Daniel Craig's 007 battle a number of nasty villains over the years, but what will make Rami Malek's character different to the baddies played by the likes of Mads Mikkelson and Christoph Waltz?

Well, more details about the Mr. Robot star's character in No Time to Die have now been revealed, including the fact that he's called Safin. According to producer Barbara Broccoli, "We’ve thrown the book at [Bond] on this one. He is really the supervillain. He’s the one that really gets under Bond’s skin." Considering how personal things have become in the past, that's obviously a bold claim.

The longtime James Bond producer adds that Safin is "a nasty piece of work."

There have been a lot of troubling reports about James Bond 25 and it's widely rumoured that it's been plagued by issues which could result in it being a total mess. Throw in on-set injuries, controversy among fans about the "new" 007, and claims that director Cary Fukunaga fell out with the crew because he was busy playing Red Dead Redemption II on his PlayStation 4.

This time it's PERSONAL PERSONAL

That's the aesthetic set by Skyfall.

I don't think you can back-out on it before the end of Craig's run as the character.

*cough Casino Royale

*cough QoS

Can't say I blame him, it's an excellent game indeed, lol.

In fairness to the Craig movies, the 'personal to Bond' thing has pretty much been an regular element since the second Dalton flick.

Licence To Kill - he heads off to avenge the murder/attempted murder of Felix Leiter's new bride and Leiter himself.

Goldeneye - the villain turns out to be an ex-fellow agent and friend.

Tomorrow Never Dies - the villain's wife is an ex-lover of Bond's.

The World Is Not Enough - when the woman who Bond is protecting (and sleeping with) turns out to be the villain of the piece, he kills her. But it's clear that doing so affects him.

Die Another Day - after being held by the Koreans for over a year, M suspends Bond's '00 agent' status under suspicion that he leaked information whilst being tortured (although naturally he regains M's trust and his status).

Yeah but this is hardly a central pillar of the film.  This is the last Bond film to be closest to the classic 70s/80s style story, which is probably why it's also my most recent highest-ranking one.

Yeah, Paris was a coincidental casualty. It's not like it became personal for Bond after that. He cut her real and spectacular ass loose a long time ago anyway.

It was the usual thing where the secondary Bond girl dies and he looks sad for 10 seconds.

It's also the best 007 music we've had in over 30 years. One of Arnold's best.

The year is 2030. 62 year old Daniel Craig is giving interviews about his role on the upcoming blockbuster movie "Goldfinger's Revenge", aka Bond 28. Craig says that, this time, it'll be his very last time as Bond. "I know I've been saying this for the last 18 years, but this time I'm being super serious, it'll be the end of the line for me as James Bond".

Hollywood sources, however, says that the actor has been in talks with his Casino Royale director Martin Campbell regarding another possible Bond movie.

Daniel Craig Confirms Bond Retirement After No Time to Die

Didn't he "confirm" it after Skyfall, and after SPECTRE, too?

Not after Skyfall, since he was contracted for 4 films originally.
