Guest
What we now know as "Duel of the fates" was named "The great duel" on John Williams original sheet (you can see it in either the "Duel of the fates" video or some Episode I documentary, I´m not sure right now).We also know that the cue names of the original trilogy changed with each release.Does someone have some info about the original names of the Star Wars cues on John Williams music sheets? Or maybe on some other scores, too?

Marian Schedenig 8,193
The piece Williams is conducting in the documentary isn't really Duel of the Fates though. What I mean is that it's not the concert version but a piece of score that didn't make it in the final film (and therefore not on the CD either) - and it sounds great. Many 0
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the cue "The Tractor Beam" from Star Wars was originally titled "Ben Creeps Around" on the conductor's score. Many

Lurker 5
What we now know as "Duel of the fates" was named "The great duel" on John Williams original sheet Actually it was called, "The Great Dual".Kevin, just how did you get the cue titles for Superman - The Movie?Neil
Kevin McCallister 0
Actually Neil, I got them from Superman Cinema. In the STM section, there are several articles on the score. They're extraordinarily done and provide a wealth of info on the score, a lot of which I had not even known before. If you look, look at the written score, as you will see the cue titles for the source cues and alternates that did not make it onto the Rhino CDs because they were lost and or not found in time for the release. There is also another expanded article on the score on another Superman fan site, but the name of it escapes me right now.
