They still had 10 minutes spare. They could have added 2 of those without removing anything. But if you added WOTW as well... hmm.

I'd lose Marion without a doubt, unfortunately it really doesn't take the theme anywhere beyond some of the original Raiders statements to make it feel like a look back after a long time has passed.

Yeah I never revisit that track. I wouldn't mourn its omission, unlike the criminally underused revised Lost World suite.

All I know it was recorded. Probably a revision or a new piece.

Hi Amer, I hadn't ever heard about additional pieces being recorded that weren't included, where did you hear about this?

Here's the proof that CE3K was recorded during these recording sessions:

AFAWK it's the existing old suite, not some fancy new arrangement.

And AFAWK, that is the only thing they recorded that they didn't put on volume 3 - and it was likely recorded as a warmup, not for potential inclusion

And here's a MUCH more thorough list of concert arrangements from Spielberg/Williams collaborations that are not on volume 1, 2, or 3:

Matessino also mentioned in The video podcast that WOTW may have been recorded.

Concert Version of Escape from the City from WOTW

For Volume #4, Another piece that I would love to hear in full recording is the Young Indys First Adventure concert arrangement from THE LAST CRUSADE.

That's one hell of a warmup.

I can confirm (through someone who worked on the project) that something from CE3K was recorded during the S/W Collaboration III sessions.

Weird... Wonder why it hasn't appeared in concerts? Vienna would've been an opportune time to debut it.

Even stranger if it was just a new recording of an existing piece from volume 1.

Key word: "may". There's no evidence.

I've been to one, or maybe two concerts where he conducted this - it isn't concertized. It's the same as the film cue.

I'd still love to hear a new recording on a volume 4 regardless, though!

Nobody said it was something new. And the regular CE3K suite has appeared in Williams' most recent concerts.

Well it ends as a short slambang coda which sort of make it like Concert piece but everything else in it as its film counterpart because its supposed to sync to the film for that performance. Its a favorite of mine.

Yea exactly. And yea, it's great!  Both times I saw it live, I loved it!

Plus, it's very similar to " Leia'sTheme" and much superior "The Love theme from ESB"

The other music they used throughout the day was the garbage shit free youtube corporate music. And some terrible songs (I am not that familiar with music with lyrics).

It is a wonderful near-concerto for alto sax.  I remember being very pleased that Williams gave us an "authoritative" recording of the whole piece with the third album.

Kind of like your phone story, I have noticed that "Christmas Star," more than the other HA pieces, gets a lot of playtime at stores in December.

Please don't let me trawl through the previous 31 pages to find out this, but just to jog my memory:

This was never released on its own CD, right? Only in the box? (plus vinyl and download).

I suddenly realized it was missing from my Williams CD want list, which might have been a deliberate choice, since I already own the first two volumes and wasn't interested in doubling up on those two just to get that third volume on CD.

You could buy the box and take it out of the box and its basically like its own CD - it's just in a cardboard sleeve instead of a jewel case

OK, thanks, so this Japan release...has anyone seen any photos of how the thing looks? Is it in a DVD case? I can't seem to find any "un-boxing" videos or photos by googling.

I'd totally forgotten about that. So this means that between the original releases, the S/W box and the Sony box, I have three original copies each of the first two Collaboration albums…

Sorry to hear it. I don't like having duplets or triplets like that. So just sell the old ones, you say? Can't do. Vol. 2, in particular, I have a strong personal connection to, that exact CD. Will never part with it.

But providing this Japanese release is an actual CD, and not in a DVD case or whatever, suppose I'll have to add it to my want list. Wish it had retained the original cover, though, and not the box cover.

Vol. 1 was I believe the third CD I ever bought (or 4th, in case JP came first, but I don't think it did). But I don't like getting rid of CDs in general.
