tomsmoviemadness 3,616
To be fair, as a fun popcorn flick, that looks actually really solid. Much better than the previous Venom and Sony films like Madame Web etc.

Edmilson 9,122
I kinda liked the first Venom. It was bad, but it's also so gonzo and ridiculous, with such an entertaining performance by Hardy, that it became kind of a guilty pleasure, one of those "so bad it's good" kinds of movies. In a weird comparison with the 80s, if the MCU was Star Wars then these Venom movies are like Krull lol (but with a far worse score). But Let There Be Carnage was so awful (and not in an entertaining way) that completely killed my interest in the franchise. I'd much rather a Tom Holland Spiderman/Tom Hardy Venom team up (the Tom Team?) where they form an uneasy alliance to face Carnage.
Giftheck 1,030
Take this with a healthy does of salt, but Sony's back-and-forth with Marvel over Spider-Man 4 being street-level vs multiversal along with reshoots for Venom: The Last Dance may indicate that Venom finally meeting Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4, with Knull being set up as the big bad for that film, could be the case. Source If this is even partly correct, I can accept the multiverse in the next story in this particular instance. It might also explain that really confusing shot of Eijofor's character capturing the Symbiote fragment left in the bar at the end of NWH in the trailer, despite being an SSU character. Giftheck 1,030
Chiwetel Eijofor is playing Rex Strickland, a character from the 'Rex' arc which acts as a prelude to the King in Black storyline. In that arc, Rex Strickland was a Vietnam War vet bonded to a piece of the Grendel - a Symbiote Dragon created by Knull which was separated by SHIELD into several pieces, each attached to a different soldier - and he was the only one to resist Knull's control. Rex died, so the Symbiote, named Tyrannosaurus (ha ha) takes his form and, years later, seeks out Venom to recruit him so he can retrieve his former comrades. Venom ends up consuming the Tyrannosaurus Symbiote to stop the revived Grendel. Source Also, it appears Andy Serkis is Knull. A bunch of people have made the claim in recent days and his voice can be heard in this TV spot:
