RICHARDSTRAUSS68 107 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Haha so apparently my last Poll didn't have enough choices so let's limit it some Explain which is your favorite of the two below! I pick Gremlins 2 because it is more of a live feeling to me compared to all the synths in the first!
Thor 9,347 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 For album -- GREMLINS 2 For score-in-movie -- GREMLINS
Naïve Old Fart 12,889 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Album: GREMLINS 2 Score: GREMLINS 2 Score-in-movie GREMLINS 2 Film: GREMLINS 2 In every single way, GREMLINS 2 outclasses, out-wierds, and just plain out-entertains the original. I'm off to worship GREMLINS 2, at the church of St. Eva Marie. RICHARDSTRAUSS68 1

Marian Schedenig 11,603 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 G2. I count it among my Goldsmith favourites. Also Pot Luck. The film is better, too.

Kasey Kockroach 2,717 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Score: I adore both equally, as both were the very first scores I ever bought when I first discovered the very concept of listening to film music out of context. I can't pick one over the other, as both suit different enviroments. To put it one way, I play the first score at night, while the second one during the day. Film: In contrast, this is an easy one. The first one is a classic. The second one is a masterpiece.
publicist 4,650 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Part Deux, 'Late for Work' notwithstanding. RICHARDSTRAUSS68 and Marian Schedenig 2
Brundlefly 2,401 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 The first film is better than the second one, for the latter exaggerates the satirical elements. As clever entertainment the first one is still workig better! The scores are both great!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,192 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 The second film is a parody of the first.
Disco Stu 15,517 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 I watched Gremlins 2 a lot as a kid and didn't see the first until I was in my twenties. Probably why 2 is my favorite film and score.

Kasey Kockroach 2,717 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 David Newman could do it! Or Douglas Pipes? Not that I actually want a Gremlins 3 film. I really don't. Just give me a third score, I guess.

Jill Sandwich 11,039 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Krampus doubles for a Gremlins-like remake anyway.
