The Last Jedi recording sessions updates

Wonder if it's Cantina Band V2 source music for that casino planet?

I hope the recording style returns to ROTJ/TPM/ROTS territory though, less dry than TFA.

Williams doesnt write in that brassy broad sense anymore. He is battling multi channels sound effects and dialogue so he has to find breathing spaces to write to. TFA had some great brass flourishes that did remind me of is 80s style of scoring but most of it was in the same prequel idiom of orchestrations. Although there was less winds and chirping piccolos this time.!

I just know about two pieces ! One of them hearkens in style back to Episode IV! (in tribute) No! ...not Leia...but Im sure that will receive some more regal presentation and I have asked about it.

Can you elaborate on the other piece?

Water is a molecule made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.  It cannot be of its nature poisonous to human beings (unless a given person has lots of problems).

LOL- I believe Williams is going on Azkaban territory here !

Tantalising! In terms of the score's texture and exotic orchestration? Rich and inspired writing?

Or being an unconventional score in the series up to that point (Azkaban was radically different from the scores preceding it)?

If they're recording the source cues, that must be about it for the sessions?

Or does he usually record concert suites and credits last? The final version of Rey's Theme was one of the final TFA sessions IIRC.

Holy shit, 100% confirmed The Last Jedi will have percussion like Lost World! Obviously JW became inspired after revisiting TLW for Matessino's expansion!

Paulinho da Costa is actually quite famous around here.

Apparently, he was one of the percussionists in the Lost World

No doubt about that -- just listen to the first 10 seconds of that clip above. That style is similar to many passages in TLW.

Da Costa played in zillions of film scores:

So it's like The Knight Bus?

Oh, yeah, that's probably what he meant by Azkaban.

Its crazier and zanier than the Cantina Band cues for sure!

I love JW in crazy-Jazz mode! He insisted on writing these source cues so must've had something specific in mind for them.
