Full moon July 9th... and I'm right in the middle of the midlife crisis... The "forties" crisis like we say in french.

Wahouuuuu!!!! 1f612.png

Fuck, anybody survived this, being in couple?

Arrgh, I be sorry to hear you be experiencing this, me bucko. I hope you can clear these rocky waves and soon sail into calmer waters.

What a poet.  You've been through this and this was hard?

I've been going through this since I was like 20, and unless I die at 70, I'm not even at midlife yet.

When it was at full swing a few years ago, know what I did?  Joined JWFan.

Really? I had an affair.

See, again this tells me I'm just not cut from the same cloth as you guys.

Having an affair is currently only a fantasma... Currently.... All those beautiful men everywhere, I can't resign myself that I will turn my head soon and I be 60.

I maybe have not the body of my 20s, but I still have them in my head.

My libido is at 400 %!

This is horrible.

I'd would never expect this psychological and physical blend.... And well, the little depression that comes with that I guess...

I've been saying that for years though, every time I am reminded that JWFan is inhabited by the more "geeky" individuals in society - as I see it. I'm not sure why you act surprised by it all the time.

And yes, the perception of smugness is bound to be apparent, if one feels they are on the receiving end. Can't be helped, sorry.

As for the whole Alexcremers comparison you have going on though, I am barely anything like the guy. His style is to sneer and undermine, he's a classic passive aggressor. He's never direct and unflinching about anything like I am. I'm interested in discussion and banter; not games. Of course, both can come across as twattish, I'll agree with that.

Wasn't really serious, although the two things did coincide.  Actually, at its zenith, I was doing nothing but playing jazz gigs around Manhattan, getting stoned, and shagging the woman.  It was my irresponsible rockstar phase.

Learning jazz or get stoned, that's an idea. Weed will be legal in Canada next year, I hate the smell, but I will retry it.

"Shagging" women, I'm not sure!

I'm turning 30 in 2 months and I have 2 kids 3 and under.  I don't have time for crises!

Although not a mid-life one, I went through a deep crisis in the late '90s during which I wasn’t working or doing anything productive with my life, other than spending countless hours a day on the internet. During that time I founded JWFan.

Idle hands are the devil's play things........

What do you think about difference of age between two lovers? Are you in couple with someone older or younger than you?

People in their 30s still seem like teenagers these days.

Posted

Because they're mentally immature and trying to hold on to their rapidly fading youth. They cling and they cling, but like Miss Trudy, a terrible inevitable fate awaits them. Later, as they...grow...follows madness. And death.

I'm 40 and she's 33. Not that much of a gap really.

It's not that you should be concerned about; at your age you'll be very lucky to find a woman without children.

With his strict criteria in place, perhaps Jerry will be forever alone then? That'd surely be a waste.

I can deal with a woman's emotional baggage. That's not so bad. Although I have had some problems with their bizarre daddy issues. But you can't do anything about their kids. I can't just make them go away.

Plus I'm not good with kids anyway.

Me 43 and my husband 51. His midlife crisis was heavy (he returned to University at his age, moved to work outside Canada then returned, Etc.), now that's my turn... As he may start an early (I think) man menopause.

And what's this about a "strict criteria"? It's not like I'm asking for specific hair colour, eye colour, astrological sign, bank balance and post code!

Nowt unusual about that, few blokes are good with kids until they're essentially forced to git gud.

Uh-oh, it's not sounding too great is it.

Thankfully I'll never be in a position to find out.
