Oh, so you covered one of my favourite cues from one of my favourite soundtracks ever? Awesome!

Yeah, the brass section in this is crazy. That Eb-Bb dyad at 2:35 is played by 6 horns on EACH note. Add some high woodwind trills on top and you've got one of the most glorious and powerful sounds an orchestra could make.

I also LOVE that trill chord at 2:27 you bring out so well. It's just perfect.

Brilliant arrangement and performance as always. Keep it up! :)

Thanks man !

Yeah that is one fantastic cue :D

I especially like this section, love how the horns are answering the trumpets there and vice versa :

These sound great!  Have you thought about using virtual sound stage?  It lets you place the audio sources in a 3D virtual stage so your section sounds spread across a wide stage.  Though I can hear your panning, you don't quite get a sense that horns occupy a part of a room (so horn 1 is closer to center than horn 4 for example) and similarly to the trumpets.  Sounding great though!

Actually I've always wanted to try out something like this ever since VSL's MIR came out !

( I remember that one cost an arm at the time...)

Will have to try VSS, and I just saw MIR now also has a demo version !

Looks like I'll give them both a try then :)

Also, I'll add my JW covers to this thread ;)

Your Frozen one sounds terrific!! I was just coming here to post it when I saw you beat me to it. :)

I hadn't heard this song before (I'm like the only person I know who has never seen the film haha, except for of course the annoyingly popular "Let It Go"). But it sounds really terrific, and great playing and arrangement.

Thanks man !

To be honest, I think Let It Go is the worst song of the whole score..

While this one is absolutely gorgeous !

Those melodies, the chords, the arrangement..I just love it 😃

I can agree with you there to a certain degree. As a strictly musical piece, the reprise of the main melody in Epilogue proves it's splendidness, in addition to that ending statement of "Do You Want to Build A Snowman?".

I just love it when chords are unpredictable in a song..

And there's that awesome chord progression in the chorus where it goes from an Eb to an A7b9, which is absolutely delightful !

As for Let It Go, the power anthem delivery and production does it a disservice, making it seem an almost wholly positive liberation anthem, when it is really only a part, and a quite negative part, actually, of Elsa's development as a character.

Nail on the head.

Here are several cues from BTTF2 !

Back to Back / It's Your Kids, Main Title, Hoverboard Chase, He's Gone, Western Union & I'm Back / End Logo

As usual I transcribed and re-recorded all of the horn/trumpet parts and also had some fun with a few others ;)

Some good old Horner :)

Excellent!! Practically jumped out of my chair when I saw this recommended on YouTube 10 minutes ago. Favorite cue from one of my favorite Horner scores!

Thank you !!

It is one really fantastic cue :)

Right now working on the last cues from Harry Potter 7 - Part 2 !

Wonderful score by Monsieur Desplat

@Marc, wow, excellent Potter as well! Looking forward to the full arrangement, but this is already pretty great. Desplat's cue is gorgeous.

Yeah the very last cue is exquisite :)

That melody I'm playing at 1'43 is originally written for solo horn + 4 bass flutes !

I don't think I'd ever seen that before...only Desplat could compose that ^^

Here's something different...I transcribed, re-arranged and recorded all the horn parts from this awesome Metallica song, originally arranged by Michael Kamen !

Definitely one of Zimmer's most moving cues !

Really needed to control myself when recording this otherwise the music gets to me and it becomes hard to play ^^

I really want to hear you give something from Don Davis' Matrix scores a shot, but I have a feeling you'll need three mouths, six horns, 24 fingers and half a barrel of Scotch aged whisky to pull it off! :D

Great stuff, Marc, très bien muy mucho!

So...I did this

Horner sure wrote some incredible (and quite challenging !) parts for the horns in this one :D

And here's something different ^^
