I'd be grateful if somone could list exactly what's missing from the OT, including source music.

My own guess is that TOD is missing

- instrumental ANYTHING GOES

- complete SLALOM ON MT. HUMOL

- the "Shorty, where's my razor?" source music

- ARRIVAL OF THE MAHARAJAH

- dinner table source music

- the "candle" scene

- the "bridge" scene

- RETURN TO THE VILLAGE film version inserted into score.

Phew! I'm sure I've forgotten some stuff. Any takers?

Temple of Doom has quite a few alternates as well. At least two versions of The Child Returns and two versions of To Pankot Palace, that we're aware of. Is the film version of Map an alternate or just an insert? Obviously the Concord version is quite different here.

Great lists, look pretty accurate. Doesn't The Temple of Doom belong after Bug Tunnel/Death Trap and before Approaching the Stones?

Pretty sure the bulk of that OST track is used for the first sacrifice sequence. Or is that a concert arrangement? It sounds heavily edited in the film.

I excluded the sacrifice stuff from the list. It's more source music.

And by the way those lists are just a simplification of Jay's tables. He did all the work.

Maybe in a general sense. I'm sure their focus will be getting Episode IX off the ground before devoting too many resources to Indy 5. With Spielberg directing, the film will basically run itself.

As far as expansions though, tying in new soundtrack expansions with another film (and hopefully a new Williams score) makes the most sense. That's why we got the Concord expansions in 2008, after all.

That was the ONLY reason I was excited about KotCS :)

Wow! I always had a feeling, listening to the Concord set version of TOD, that something about "Map" felt missing. Probably primarily because I was an avid player of the LEGO video game, and was used to hearing the longer, more full statement of Willie's Theme. Of course the Concord version has the longer intro going into the theme, but I'd take the theme itself over that, any day. Just rediscovered the film version in all its glory, and I'm dying for an official release of this sometime...

I think if MM ever gets to do this score he'll put Out of Fuel with the Map Insert into the main program, and the original version without the Map insert but with the other two film inserts (the ones that ruin the flow of the piece entirely) as the bonus track version

Belly starts with such an obvious setpievebopening and such an obvious setpiece finale that On the Tank would feel like a useless afterthought both before and after it. It was only ever separated to follow the OST+bonus tracks mentality for whatever stupid reason anyway, Mike should just assemble the final version with inserts into one big track and put the original insertless OTT into the bonus section.

Yea, the beginning of Belly of the Steel Beast is clearly meant to play before On The Tank, and the rest of the track is clearly meant to play after on The Tank, I dunno if any competent producer wouldn't combine them as intended for the main program.  They can always be presented separately in the bonus track section though for sure.

Often there is room to include the OST album on these expanded sets so you get some isolated cues that way.  For something like this where there wouldn't be room for the whole OST unless it was a 3CD set, I suppose it would be a little unprecedented, but still possible.  Who knows

I hope not! It'd be a completely unnecessary price hike. With Disney/Lucasfilm in charge there's not even any pressure to rerelease and licence different-but-not-actually-different album takes, if I understand correctly. Would TOD fit on 2 discs with complete score plus all the alternates, though?

Sorry, perhaps I didn't make myself clear.  I was saying that if IJ3 gets a 3CD set, that would only be to include the entire OST on a third disc, meaning a shorter bonus track section at the end of disc 2.  Otherwise, if they didn't feel it was necessary to include the OST, it'd be a 2CD set,and there would be plenty of room to include both On The Tank and Belly in the bonus track section even with all the other alternates.
