Disco Stu 15,495
I've had the sessions for a while, but still very happy this is happening. Opens the door for Bond on specialty labels in the future I hope! There are a few Roger Moore era scores I'd give my left arm to have complete. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Warner Bros released the OST or Die Another Day. The bulk of the Bond scores were released by EMI though. We'll have to see but I certainly wouldn't start expecting anything based on this.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
5 minutes ago, Koray Savas said: I always figured the studio makes the call. It depends really. The studio usually owns the score. But the rights to release it on CD can lie with a music label. Sometimes they can own the rights in perpetuity. I remember that for Jurassic Park, LLL has to get both Universal the movie studio and Universal the music label to sign off on the release, and of course Spielberg, Williams and who knows how many more. That's why projects like this can take years from start to finish, even if all the tapes and documentation are accounted for. Just getting permissions to proceed from one stage to another takes a long time.

mstrox 6,651
I’ll likely buy this - the score is a lot better than the movie. But honestly, I’m more excited by the (potential) future ramifications of a label-expanded, studio-approved James Bond release. Jay

mstrox 6,651
I can understand why LLL doesn’t shell out for a Madonna song. Not nearly as befuddling as the Bond OSTs missing their songs (Casino Royals, Skyfall, Spectre).

Fancyarcher 350
I'm fine with them not including Die Another Day. It's not a good song, and Arnold didn't really have anything really to do with it, so it's barely referenced in instrumental form in the score. Also Another Way to Die is such a confused song. White and Keys did not make for a great duo, and barely matched up with each other. It was a crappy disappointment.
Ollie 1,059
Frankly it was a dreadful song and they were 15 years too late in asking Madonna to do a Bond song. But then it again it’s not the first time they’ve dropped the ball with Bond songs.

It would be cool if David Arnold could finish the song he started writing before Madonna came onboard. Wasn't it called I Will Return? The melody is all over the score (the cue Peaceful Fountains of Desire). It would be a nice companion piece to Surrender and No Good About Goodbye. Anthony 572
It's interesting that the film/orchestra only versions of "Gustav Graves’ Grand Entrance" and "Ice Palace Car Chase" aren't included. Jay 37,346
Neil replied to a post on the Intrada forum asking about orchestra-only versions Quote The stereo tapes were provided by David Arnold and had the electronics mixed in. We discussed this and this is how he wanted it. I'm guessing the orchestra only versions were dub stage decisions. There were two cues that had alternate mixes without the electronics and those are included with the additional material. Naïve Old Fart 9,513
Until I started reading Burlingame's book, I didn't know that TSWLM is the shortest Bond score. It's something like 36 minutes, but it seems a lot longer (and that includes source music, and the Jarre stuff). I still love it, though. I love the way the Bond Theme comes to an abrupt end, on board the Liparius.
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
For Die Another Day, Mr Arnold did something quite different to Independence Day. Instead of an alien invasion sequel, you'd think this was a spy thriller or something.
