Cerebral Cortex 3,357
Oh baby! Thanks for sharing, bud. Quote I'm not an expert in electronic music, so much of which is very popular now and very very effectively used in film, but there were a couple sequences where this needed to be done and I sort of researched with people I knew who knew how to do this much better than I and we used some... a couple of scenes have very light computerized electronic effects which are used in many people's hands very brilliantly. 1 Some light electronic scoring from Williams? Makes me look forward to the score that much more...

Cerebral Cortex 3,357
Spielberg talks about Ol' Johnny Boy at 7:48. Spielberg says that, because of the rushed scheduling, The Post was one of the few films in his collaboration with Williams where he went to the scoring sessions having not heard any of the musical sketches beforehand. crumbs 14,315
He was out partying all night long with Daisy! But seriously, it's common at that age to have sporadic days where you're more tired/fatigued than others. Just look at that 2013 video for The Book Thief then compare it to his Tavis Smiley interview two years later. Kostov

crumbs 14,315
I'm tired every day and I'm not even 30! For all we know they grabbed Williams right after he finished the sessions and recorded this in a broom closet, or first thing in the morning before he'd had his coffee. KK 3,307
He actually seemed rather animated to me. There's still that sparkle in his voice, which is a joy to hear at his age. DarthDementous and ocelot

crumbs 14,315
We've gone from discussing the score to discussing Williams' worthiness for awards recognition to discussing Williams' health. Standard JWFan thread trajectory.

filmmusic 1,829
I'm curious: In what other instances Spielberg has not listened to ANY music of John Williams until the recording sessions? I'm not aware of any. And he said there were a few.
