Chewy 2,658
Huh, I just think he used it because this scene is very similar to the emperor scene in ROTJ. And by the way, I don't think it would be worth to start working on an edit using those 192k mp3 files, let's wait for the lossless version (which we'll hopefully get one day). aj_vader
Giftheck 1,070
We got lucky with TFA. Rogue One's FYC still hasn't leaked in lossless (with the intact ending of "Today Of All Days"). I wouldn't expect a leak of TLJ's FYC for a while. Pieter Boelen
crumbs 15,365
So my first edit of Main Title and Escape has come to 10:32. And to echo my earlier thoughts, the track is an absolute mess. Unfortunately it appears whatever Williams scored earlier in the year was drastically re-edited, and the statement of Poe's Theme was possibly an insert that replaced the cool March of the Resistance section at 3:02 on the OST track. Anyway, I've combined the two tracks as best I can but it's impossible to recreate whatever Williams' original intention was with the two sources we have. Bryant Burnette 747
I don't mind any of these issues. Something to look forward to when the eventual complete version is rolled out. I just hope it doesn't take thirty years. Will and Chewy
Knight of Ren 1,210
I have listened to the full FYC album and I really like the expanded bits in Escape, A New Alliance, The Last Jedi and The Spark. But I don't really understand why they have make such a chaotic edit in for example Escape. I also really like the new tracks like Admiral Holdo, Rey's Journey or Holdo Resolve, but it's a shame that we don't have the Rey training cue or the bit of the Emperor theme. Anyway, I will try to edit both albums to create something like a film version.
CGCJ 519
All tracks on the FYC are the exact edits from the film. So if Escape is such a mess its only because that's how it is in the film. I don't really see what the problem is with that track, honestly. Breadstick Basilisk

I guess we're looking at it from the perspective that it would be nice to assemble a 'complete' version of the opening cues, but sadly the OST is microedited and the film version is edited/tracked to death. So we're stuck with two alternative edited versions of the track, but neither is definitive (and both contain things the other version doesn't). @Jay is it against board rules to post Clyps of FYC/OST edits? Balahkay 629
I was under the impression that the FYC had to present the music exactly as it's heard in the film with all the edits but I guess it just needs to contain only music heard in the film regardless of how it's edited on the FYC.... except the Escape opening wasn't in the movie as I recall. FYC Escape is a mess and didn't sound like that in the film. I love the rest, though. I think this score is a strong contender for a nomination. Pieter Boelen 906
Makes sense, I suppose. Also explains why "Poe's Theme" wasn't on the OST there, despite standing out very clearly in the film. Is there a way to make the same track you did, but with "March of the Resistance" in place instead? Hearing them both, I think I prefer that bit from the OST because it is much more different from TFA than that statement of "Poe's Theme". But of course... And her two big speeches are scored with the Resistance March, and not this theme. 12 hours ago, TheForkAwakens said: What is a "C&C"? My bad!
