I thought that since so many people have older films, or at least from the 90's and older as most of their favorites, what are everyones favorite movies since the turn of the century. Mine,

Chicago

Minority Report

Pitch Black

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Gladiator

O'Brother Where Art Thou?

Road to Perdition

and to a lesser extent: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Red Dragon, Cast Away, X-Men, The Patriot, Snatch, Oceans Eleven, A Beutiful Mind,

The Royal Tenenbaums, Spy Game, The Count of Monte Cristo, Catch Me if You Can, The Bourne Identity,

Damn, I see too many movies, this is probably less than a fourth of what i've seen since Jan 1, 2000.

I'd definitely put Moulin Rouge and A.I. on the list.

Anthony - who's sure there are others, but can't think of them right now.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

Star Trek: Nemesis

Minority Report

Catch Me If You Can

Gladiator

Some would say with the last option that it isn't in the 21st century I'm just including it because I want to. :P

I can only add Catch me if You Can. But I haven't been going to the cinema much these last years. In 1999, I used to go every week. Crouching Tiger was great, and Unbreakable deserves recognition too.

Ok guys, lets use just a bit of intelligence here.

The title of this thread is favorite film of the 21st Century.

So Gladiator and crouching dragon, spotted leopard don't belong since they were films of the last year of the 20th century.

Call me a nitpicking SOB, but jeez guys use your common sense.

I don't have time for PC games anymore, but BG 1 & 2 are my all time favorites. Biggest, most interesting, and funnest games I've ever played. They even have pretty good soundtracks!

(If you can find it- 'The Pirate's Isle' from BG2 is a great track, one of my favorite pirate themed tracks  )

BTW the portrait is that of Edwin Odessarian:

"My name is Edwin Odessarian but you may refer to me merely as Sir" Edwin Odessarian

"Elminster this, Elminster that.. Give ME two thousand years, a pipe and a pointy hat - I'll kick his ars!" Edwin Odessarian

Edwin: *speaks with familiar*

Familiar: *pokes tongue at Edwin and scurry back to Valyissiun*

Edwin: One day..ONE day

What the hell is wrong with this log in system!

LOL

I love this movie. I saw it for the first time one night last December before going to work. The next night I watched Mommie Dearest; the following night was The World According to Garp. Three funny movies. If I could have continued the chain, the next two nights would have been To Wong Fu, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Talk about guilty pleasures.

Edges of the Lord

Minority Report

Red Dragon

---------------

Well, nobody asked me this, but the most ever viewed film of mine is The Sixth Sense, 6 times at a theatre within just 3 weeks and dozens of times on DVD, followed by Schindler's List. Why haven't they yet released SL on DVD?

There's nothing to logging in, so why not remain logged off each time I post...? Even better to post certain things twice or even more times in the advancement as they were evolving in my mind instead of deleting the previous rejected version...? that?s's just me.... :)

since your so cavalier about the dividing line,

lets just say that my favorite films of the 21st century give or take

are

Titanic, 1997, heck its only 3 or 4 years away depending on who you ask.

Jurassic Park, its on 7 or 8 years removed

Silence of the Lambs and Beauty and the Beast, whats a decade between friends.

Joe, if we are not being to strict i'd like to include Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

works for me. Certainly better than any teen film in recent memory.

Joe, the IMAX version of Beauty and the Beast came out in 2002, and included an extra scene, so I think we can include that in the 21st century.

Sadly, I thought the movie sucked, so I won't be including it on my list.
