Well I think he was well know in Japan too.. our Québécois prolific composer and pianist André Gagnon passed away today at 84 from degenaritve disease.

Returning to topic, I was dismayed to learn that Claude Bolling died at age 90 a couple days ago. I love his jazz suite albums.
