They are about to embark on a "Farewell" tour.

Saw them in Dublin on the Get A Grip tour 30 or so years ago. Great gig.

Permanent Vacation, Pump, Get A Grip - what a 3-album run that was.

Big Ones is such a great album, combining all the hits from those 3 albums with 3 great new* songs too

* Deuces Are Wild wasn't new to me, having owned The Beavis And Butt-head Experience prior, but damn that's a good song

Watching this right now:

I have to admit, Lightfoot was someone I was always aware of but never properly explored. I knew and admired a handful of his better-known tracks - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, If You Could Read My Mind, Carefree Highway, etc - but last night, lying in bed, I decided to go through some of his back-catalogue on Spotify. Some really impressive songwriting right there!

Wooow. What a shock. Very sad.

Seeing him in Ahsoka later this year will be weird.

And he looked so healthy when he was at Star Wars Celebration

R.I.P. Only 58.

It wasn't well reviewed or a hit, but it could be argued that the pulpy ultraviolence of his Punisher movie 'got' the spirit of the comic book better than either the Dolph Lundgren or Thomas Jane ones.

Real fucking shame (his actions, not his death). Harris was something of a hero of mine as a kid.

In two days Ray would have celebrated his 59th birthday. We're pratically the same age.

Cruel, but good word use, Mike.

Unfortunately, not a lot of people will mourn his passing.

Enjoyed this by a satire page I follow on Facebook.

Oh, shucks. I never listened to Tina Turner actively, but her hits are obviously a big part of my childhood. Her two forrays into film songs -- "Goldeneye" and "We Don't Need Another Hero" -- are also excellent. I still think "Goldeneye" is the best Bond song ever written.

Believe it or not, I haven't listened to any Tina Turner except 4 songs:

Goldeneye, You're Simply the best, What's love got to do with it,  Cose della vita.

I also haven't seen the film with the Oscar nominated Angela Bassett.

Time to change that...

That was excellent casting and a brilliant performance. I never doubted her in that role.  And her two songs for that soundtrack were excellent.

If there’s someone who doesn’t like Tina Turner I don’t want to know them.
