Jay 37,044
Quote “Failure is not an option…” Get ready, Space City! The first-ever performance of Apollo 13 with live soundtrack fittingly takes place right here in Houston as the complete film starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton is projected on the big screen at Jones Hall, with James Horner’s Oscar®-nominated score performed live by the Houston Symphony. Relive the incredible story of one of the most thrilling and suspenseful space missions in history like never before in what promises to be an emotional and truly unforgettable concert event. Disco Stu 15,495
Obligatory: A sure sign of an impending re-release? 😏
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Its certainly possible.
Jay 37,044
It wouldn't be a re-release, it would be an expansion
Disco Stu 15,495
I count an expansion as a type of re-release. But I really, really, really don't want to argue the semantics. So let's leave it at that.
Jay 37,044
I sure hope a complete release of Horner's score is in the works, it's one of my favorite scores by him OneBuckFilms
crocodile 7,939
I'm not sure if it really needs a longer release than the promo but it would be nice to have the whole thing out for us mere mortals (as that promo doesn't really count). Really lovely score, this one. Karol
Jay 37,044
Oh some of the extra cues that weren't on the promo are great. And hey, if this concert makes it your way, you can heard them live! (Actually nevermind - a lot of them were dropped from the final film)
karelm 2,890
That's awesome! Remember folks, July 21 is the 49th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Some of those involved still live in Houston (Michael Collins - Columbia pilot; Gene "Failure is not an Option" Kranz). These guys are in their late 80's and are national treasures. There are only four moon walkers still alive.

Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
Yeah if I had more advanced warning they were doing this, I would have tried to go.
ymenard 54
There a lot of small expansion cues that are the electronic Horner type of stuff he did mid-90's, wonder what they will do of them live.
