Hans Zimmer to Score Patty Jenkin's 'Wonder Woman 1984'

Quote

Hans Zimmer has signed on to score the upcoming superhero sequel Wonder Woman 1984. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) who previously helmed last year’s original movie (scored by Rupert Gregson-Williams) and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal. The movie follows the title character as she comes into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s, and finds a formidable foe in the form of the Cheetah. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gadot are producing the project. Zimmer has previously contributed the Wonder Woman theme to 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of JusticeWonder Woman 1984 is set to be released on November 1, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

This hasn't aged well: https://www.cinemablend.com/new/One-Change-Wonder-Woman-Should-Make-From-Batman-v-Superman-According-Hans-Zimmer-121617.html

This combined with being the second exception to his retirement from superhero films is proof that Zimmer...is a liar? Like, seriously. He just babbles for attention and doesn't follow his own advice. He once complained that orchestras are being underused and that he's trying to "save" them. Sure.

He asked Christopher Nolan if he could record his watch as an uncontemporary percussive additive in Dunkirk, so yeah.

I don't hate Hans Zimmer, just to make that clear.

I would never have gotten that impression from anything you post.  You seem to be a reasonable and level headed individual with organic likes and dislikes and no weird personal vendettas.

Zimmer is the most powerful influencer in film music. The fact that he can't keep his word is annoying.

This is insane.  It's fucking film music.  Who gives a shit?

Yeah but you talk about it as though it's critical world affairs or something.  Who appointed you the official snarky Twitter watchdog of the film music community?  Give it a rest man.

@TGP what's a 'green' composer? Environmentally friendly music?

Why are there so many songs about rainbows, and what's on the other side?

Farting whilst composing is kept to a minimum to reduce one's carbon footprint.

Yes. Not because his music's ever been listenable, but because Rupert's a funny name to say out loud.

Are you saying Rupert Gregson-Williams is better than Zimmer?

1) Zimmer only does the score because the first Wonder Woman performed exceptionally well?

2) Now that Wonder Woman is hot property, the producers have no problem paying Zimmer's usual fee?

3) Zimmer said he was done with action scores but the truth is there aren't enough artistic projects that can actually afford his services?

You decide!
