You can't seriously be comparing one of the most beloved iconic best-selling soundtracks with this silly Black Sunday-esque motif.

Crowd pleasing doesn't imply high quality.

I dunno I think it's JW at his coolest sounding

I could not agree more.

Odd that KM and I have similar avatars, because I'm frequently sympatico with his opinions on JW.

This release is my grail.  The gap it fills has been painful all these years.

Apparently this restoration of the film is happening...

Wow = that is intriguing news.  I've searched online and could not find anything about this - but thank you for the exciting share.

Took a risk waiting for Cowboys to save on shipping. Didn't get the new SPR though

DRACULA is my favorite, too!  All those great themes and motifs.  It's dark, romantic and creepy ... and the Herbert Spencer orchestrations are amazing.  It's in that sweet spot of Williams' career, after THE FURY and before EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

No, of course not. It's much better.

You have similar opinions? Isn't that what makes your similar avatars exactly the opposite of odd?

And it doesn't have Celine Dion. 😱

Which makes Dracula ten times the better just for that reason. Just imagine an end title song for Dracula My Blood Will Go On sung by Dion. Ugh!

Every night in my dreams
I see your fangs, I feel them
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you live on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the unlife does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my blood
And with my blood you will go on and on

Fangs can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone

Blood was when you bit me
One true time I hold to
In my unlife we'll always go on...

It's funnier if we change "fangs" by "testicles".

I read on their website they don't ship until november 2, no?

Did I dreamed that?

Oh I missed this somehow in all the excitement

CDs expected to begin shipping the week of November 5

FFS! That's just cruel.

But at least it's early November and not late November, like LLL's Black Friday releases. Shipping those out towards the start of December is brutal for international buyers; $30 postage for items that usually take until the following year to arrive, due to the volume of Christmas mail and all the public holidays shutting down the postal service. 😖

That's because Varese doesn't have a shipping pact with these resellers, so they have to sell it more expensive to cover their fees. Oh, and Varese is the only one of the "big 3" who will not even try to circumvent customs fees and VAT.

Musicbox has it for 42.95+shipping to wherever.

I've put the bug in my family's ear about this as a possible birthday idea for me.  Being a week before Thanksgiving / Black Friday has certainly paid off in years past with all the fabulous JW BF releases!

Anyone else get Panama Hat vibes early in Storm Sequence?

Never made the connection before, but I can hear it.

Yeah, I saw that the first day. Bit of a bummer, but with everything else going for JWFans, this is a good breather period!

As a veritable Varese virgin, what happens once the 5th rolls around?

In my experience both Varese and Intrada are much more efficient than LLL when it comes to shipping.

I heard later on the FSM board that this is in fact a fan restoration, along the lines of the Harmy Despecialized Editions of the Star Wars original trilogy.

More like TN1's Silver Screen and the 4Kxxs, it seems.

those are scans from prints.

This dracula "restoration" isn't.

It's just someone that took the bluray and put the color back in.

Didn't it say 35mm in the title?

yes, it does but  the word is misused.

Same it was misused for the 35mm silver screen edition of Superman in which someone would have thought that they scanned the film, but in reality they had used the bluray of the extended cut.

I didn't actually get a chance to say hello myself, sadly. There were quite a few people there. But it was really cool meet up. Having studied Archaeology years ago, the entire restoration process sounds strangely familiar. :)

The story of how the tapes were found will be available to listen to online sometime soon. Stay tuned!

Awesome! Thanks Jason.

Mike himself said details should start being distributed as of yesterday, so hopefully it isn't far off now.
