I've never seen My Brilliant Friend but I know some people here like it.  Here's a teaser trailer for the 4th and final season

Holy moly, the new and older cast!

Before starting my first thought was that they really made it harder on themselves by keeping the girls on for s3 too, now we're too used to them and a change for the final season will be distracting. Then the second New Lila opened her mouth I was sold.

Yes, hopefully that won't be a problem. They do look a little bit like their younger selves.

You don't know who Michael Keaton is?

Of course I do! He was a Spiderman villain and a Batman that kept dying in The Flash

Seriously now, I was talking about the musicians, not the presenters.

They're not presenters, they're hosts.  They spend the entire episode acting in comedy sketches.

You've heard Stevie Nicks singing before

Spoiler

I always preferred her big sister, Ariana Venti.

I’ll get my coat.

Is this any good?

I loved Spartacus: Blood and Sand (et al.), it's a serious guilty pleasure that I've rewatched more times than I care to admit. But I watched the trailer for Those About to Die and, well, let's say I wasn't encouraged.

That's what I thought.

But by Jupiter's Cock! They're finally making a follow-up to Spartacus!!!!

It's officially time to start getting hyped up with Spartacus: House of Ashur. The sequel series to Spartacus has entered production in New Zealand this week, and Starz announced it by revealing the main cast of the upcoming series. The story will center around fan-favorite Ashur (Nick Tarabay), who survived a terrible fate at Mount Vesuvius and was awarded Batiatus' (John Hannah) slave gladiator school for helping eliminate Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) and end the slave rebellion.

I just finished watching The Expanse, and Nick Tarabay was fantastic in it. And I read Graham McTavish has joined the cast as well. I hope it's as unabashedly schlocky, tasteless, and wildly entertaining as the original.

Disclaimer from Alfonso Cuaron is one of the best things I´ve seen this year. A very compelling storytelling, with really impressive acting from Cate Blanchett (no surprise) to Sacha Baron-Cohen (big surprise), brilliant cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezky and Bruno Delbonnel, and even a pretty decent chamber score by Billie Eilish´s brother. Highly reccomended.

Apple TV is killing it.  We gotta resubscribe soon to catch the second seasons of The Afterparty, Shrinking, and Severance - and probably check out shows we haven't seen yet like Silo, Masters of the Air, Adventures of Dick Turpin, Bad Monkey, Palm Royale, The New Look, Constellation, Disclaimer...

'Mass Effect’ TV Series in the Works at Amazon From ‘Fast & Furious 9’ Writer (EXCLUSIVE)

https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/mass-effect-tv-series-amazon-writer-marvel-1236203755/

I really don't like this. I absolutely LOVE the Mass Effects games, playing the whole trilogy from start to finish was one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

But despite the amazing characters and rich and detailed lore, I really don't think this should be adapted. And not just because they went with the guy that wrote one of these horrible Fast & Furious movies.

In the games you get to have many choices. From what gender your character is, who are going to be your romantic partners, which species you save, which you let die. You can choose to be nice or a douchebag. And in the end you choose how to save the galaxy.

And of course you can't replicate that with a TV series. Unless they do something like that Bandersnatch movie but for three whole seasons instead of just a movie.
