Terrible? I've heard nothing but good things about it, to the point I've been slowly reading the original books in preparation after only knowing the movie. Any complaint I saw was very much rooted in the inherent premise of the series, so I wouldn't know what anybody has had to critique with the actual content itself.

This is pretty nuts!!

6 - 8 seasons for Foundation.

3 - 6 for Severance

Sad that there will only be one more season of Shrinking. Such a good show. But maybe also a good choice to stop while there on top.

I feel like I should watch Foundation (I liked Bear & Co's score, not that I can remember masses about it) but I don't remember it getting especially good comments despite its pedigree. Much though I enjoyed the first season of Severance, it feels like a show that could easily run out of ideas and just go a bit nuts by a 6th season... Shrinking is on the list though!

Silo renewned for 2 more seasons!!!!

Amazing news. This show is FANTASTIC, one of the best sci-fi shows of this century so far. Can't wait for the season finale this week.

Foundation is much more of a mixed bag, but as with Rings of Power I find at least as much good as bad and it's compelling enough to keep me watching (and McCreary and team's amazing orchestral scoring goes a long way to making even the dumb parts watchable).

I have seen the first 4 episodes of Silo, but then stopped to wait till it was all out. The show works best when I can watch multiple episodes. Not really a binge, but I like to do 2 or 3 episodes and then continue the next day.

But yeah, it's fantastic so far!

I only just found out that Season 2 is already out. That slipped me by completely.

It's not *all* out quite yet. One amazing episode left to go. Season 2 finale will be up on Apple TV+ late Thursday night and I can't wait!

FRASIER Season 3 has been cancelled.

Genuinely a bit disappointed. It wasn’t perfect but it conjured up enough of the old charm to be an enjoyable follow up. Maybe someone else will pick it up. Just have to go back and watch the original 11 seasons (when we’ve finished rewatching Parks and Rec).

Well, the Silo Season 2 finale was excellent as expected... but one of the most frustrating cliffhangers I have ever seen! I can't believe we have to wait another 12-18 months to find out what happens. Apparently they stopped just a few chapters short of the end of the first novel, Wool, so GAAAH. I'm torn... very tempted to read the novels but kind of want to stay a show virgin, for now.

Glad you also liked it!!!

I screamed at my TV with that ending. Thought it brilliantly done.

“Liked” might be the wrong word for my reaction to the ending (the one right before the closing flashback, that is). More like “WHAT THE — ARGHHHH!” 🤣

What a fantastic cast!!!

Looks like the makers got ahead of themselves a bit with this one. Unlucky I guess.

First look of the sequel on the Black Mirror's Star Trek episode (USS Callister) with Cristin Milioti who seems to be in everything these days.

Really? I have the feeling that she's in every trailer these days. Ah well, ...

The important thing is that there's a sequel to USS Callister.

Always found it interesting that Channel 4 seemed happy enough to let Friends go, but they hung on to Frasier.

Do we know who is the music composer for this? (I see many Greeks in key positions in the crew at imdb, but no composer credit yet)

Most modern TV shows don't get their composer revealed until shortly before the show releases

"In everything".

She's been in this and The Penguin. That's it.

??????

Since breaking out via How I Met Your Mother, she's starred in A to Z, season 2 of Fargo, Season 2 of No Activity, Made To Love, The Resort, The Penguin, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Palm Springs... and that's just off the top of my head.  Seems like she shows up in every third thing we watch.  She's great!

At least half of that I wouldn't label "these days". Otherwise, I'd counter with: "Michelle Forbes is in everything these days".

Made To Love, The Resort, and the Penguin are all pretty recent!

‘Righteous Gemstones’ to End With Season 4 at HBO, Final Episodes to Premiere in March

Aww that's too bad.  Felt like it should have been a 5 season show.  Hopefully 4 is an awesome send-off!

And the final season begins in 5 weeks!

The second season of Netflix' Sandman adaptation will also be its last.

The showrunner may say stuff like "we only had enough story for 2 seasons", but we all know it's because of Neil Gaiman's tallywhacker.

Sarah Michelle Gellar says

So….. you might have heard some news this week, but I realize you haven’t heard from me.

Three years ago, I got a call from my dear friend and mentor, Gail Berman. She told me that she wanted me to sit down with Chloé Zhao to hear her take on a potential “Buffy” revival. I was blown away that Chloé even knew who I was, but, as I’ve always done, I told Gail that I just didn’t see a way for the show to exist again. We’d always been aligned on that, but this time I heard something different in her voice. I eventually agreed to go (mainly just to meet Chloé) and our twenty minute coffee quickly turned into a four hour adventure. We laughed, we cried, but mostly we both talked about how much this show means to us.

While I didn’t agree to anything at that meeting, I did shock myself by agreeing to continue the conversation. These conversations did, in fact, continue over the next few years and eventually we added the incredible Nora and Lilla Zuckerman to our little tribe until ultimately, one day, we landed on an idea.

I have always listened to the fans and heard your desire to revisit “Buffy” and her world, but it was not something I could do unless I was sure we would get it right. This has been a long process, and it’s not over yet. I promise you, we will only make this show if we know we can do it right. And I will tell you that we are on the path there.

I feel so lucky to be on this journey with these four unbelievably talented women, all of whom love “Buffy” as much as I do. And as much as you do. Thank you to all the fans who never stopped asking for this. This will be for you.

Not sure if anybody else on here watches The Wheel Of Time. I do and I really love it. Excellent fantasy television that stands apart from all the other stuff.

Trailer for the 3rd season premiering on March 13th just dropped. Looks incredible!

I've never talked to a single person who has seen it

I've seen people say it's (what a surprise) an awful adaptation

Posted

Yeah, book fans say the show is a horrible adaptation.

However, my mom did see the first season and had no wish to continue after that, as the show was "boring". And she usually loves medieval/fantasy stuff.

You've asked every single person you've talked to whether they've seen it? And went back to ask everyone you talked to before it came out? ;)

I saw my Cobra Kai anticipation post was moved to the Cobra Kai appreciation thread. But it’s still an upcoming TV show, with the final five episodes coming tomorrow. Doesn’t seem off topic. So is this thread strictly just for shows that don’t have their own separate threads, I guess?
