John Williams and your family

Perhaps.

Many years ago, he asked me to make some CD-Rs of film music that he could play in his car, and the only directive that I got was that it needed to be slow and relaxing; nothing upbeat and bombastic (a sentiment I share with him these days). I cannot remember what I chose, but he liked them.

He never 'converted' to film music, but he's been positive to a great deal I've played him over the years. Vice versa, I would never have been interested in film music if it hadn't been for my dad and his records and cassettes that I inherited; with various forms of conceptual instrumental music (but that's a different story).
