John Williams:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Black Sunday

Seven Years in Tibet

Sabrina

Rosewood

Non-John Williams:

Gladiator

Pirates of the Caribbean 5

The Social Network

Justice League

Ladyhawke

I take it as an offense that you included Rosewood and Seven Years in Tibet in this ironic JW list! The Non-JW list, however, is spot on!

Why do you keep calling it ironic? Those are the only five Williams scores I own. I donated the others to a local deaf convent.

If we could hear, this would be so penitential.

More lists less discussion. Each is entitled to like what they want here.

The Pagemaster is better than Harry Potter.

Ha! It's an excellent score, yes. I'd say it's on the same level as the first HARRY POTTER, better than the second, but worse than the third.

Well,,, i'm a new guy here..., but here is my list (no order)

JW:

SW EP5 - The Empire Strikes Back

SW EP1 - The Phantom Menace

IJ - The Temple Of Doom

Superman

Home Alone

If there was a franchise score top 5, then

SW

IJ

JP

Home Alone

Superman (themes)

Ok, here top not JW:

Brad Fiedel - Terminator 2

Elliot Goldenthal - Batman Forever

Alan Silverstri - Predator

James Horner - Commando

Rob Walsh - Revenge Of the Ninja

(well that's only 5.... but there many many more)

If it was top 5 franchise not JW, then:

Terminator (all)

Spider-Man Trilogy (Danny Elfman & Christopher Young)

Star Trek (Jerry Goldsmith's movies & Dennis McCarthy)

Alien(s) (all)

Batman (Danny Elfman, Elliot Goldenthal, Hans Zimmer)

You need an order please!

Btw  what part of top 5 scores indicates no order? Many of you seem to not grasp the concept.

JW:
1. CE3K

2. ESB

3. ANH

4. E.T.
5. Superman

Non-JW:

1. The Day the Earth Stood Still (Bernard Herrmann)

2. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Jerry Goldsmith)
3. Koyaanisqatsi (Philip Glass)

4. Trouble Man (Marvin Gaye)

5. Black Panther (Ludwig Göransson)

The combined would simply look the same. The top 3 have never changed. The non-JW depends on which week and which comfort zone.

  • The Lost World
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • War of the Worlds
  • War Horse
  • Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith

And that ranking will change tomorrow I guess. Ranking stuff from your favorite artist is a lost cause! :D

I edited my top 5 the other day.  Are you waiting till that date to compile the list?

Top 5:

  1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
  4. Far and Away
  5. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

I won't do a top 5 non JW list as I can't really narrow it down to just 5 scores.

@JoeinAR

How about after this you do a top 5 tracks from both JW and other composers.  We can see if favorite tracks also corresponds with favorite albums.  I know a lot of mine would actually be on different scores.

Anyways, these threads feel a bit more official JWfan forum lists.

If any still hasn't  posted their lists you got two more weeks. I will be out of time for the next two weeks working and then I will have the tiime to compile this. Also if you are inclined to make changes heres the time to do so.
