AC1 3,565
OK, I wanna do a poll too, so what.Suppose you're sentenced to 25 years in jail and you want your fellow inmates to get acquainted with the music of John Williams. There is a catch. You're only allowed to take with you the logo music for Dreamworks or The Ladd Company. Both written by Williams but can you make a choice? Remember 25 years is a long time.Alex Cremers

Yoda Longbottom 0
The Ladd is JW's? I didn't know that. But I like it better than the DreamWorks' logo, which, to my ears, sounds too much like Stepmom music, whose score I like but don't find it particularly proper for a logo music to represent the company for ages to come. It's not timeless. (I believe the guitar solo in it is also by Mr. Parkening... :-))

Miguel Andrade 964
Suppose you're sentenced to 25 years in jail and you want your fellow inmates to get acquainted with the music of John Williams. Are you going to jail! I never heard the logo music for Dreamworks, and didn't know JW did it. Have you never watched a Dreamworks picure? Amistad, for example incluedes this.I like both, but The Ladd Company, the only logo by Williams that got to be released in both lp and cd -- included in the John Barry score to Body Heat -- has a more serious and misterious sound that I prefer. AC1 3,565
For the people that don't remember. The Dreamworks logo is the one with the fishing kid and the moon amongst the clouds. The Ladd Company is the one with a growing green digitized tree. The Dreamworks logo is still in use while the Ladd company is no more.----------------Alex Cremers

AC1 3,565
Well, playful has won over seriousness. Dreamworks is a clear winner here. However this was expected since the tune for Dreamworks is so "him"(Williams). The Ladd company logo tune could easily been something that Alex North had written.----------------Alex Cremers
Morn 7
I'd have to say Dreamworks, it's better. I don't think either of these pieces really are a good example of Williams anyway.
