Popular Post Jay 37,352
Quote Air Force One : The Deluxe Edition Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Jerry Goldsmith UPC: 888072124813 Release Date: 9/27/2019 Limited Edition Of 4000 $ 29.98 Albums will begin shipping the week of October 7th! The #1 most requested CD Club title is finally here! Air Force One: The Deluxe Edition with music composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith. 46 tracks across 2 CD's! In scores resounding with patriotic brass and militaristic action, Jerry Goldsmith memorably saluted America’s brothers in arms. His themes embodied generals in service to God and country (Patton, MacArthur), men fighting for survival in an America gone astray (First Blood, Capricorn One), an analyst pitted against enemies both foreign and domestic (The Sum of All Fears) and a peace-seeking president combating a coup (Seven Days in May). But no noble warrior that Goldsmith accompanied had faced the impossible odds of a commander-in-chief evading terrorists aboard 1997’s Air Force One. Demanding all of the excitement, emotion and suspense that Goldsmith could muster in a mostly confined setting, it was a film that put the composer in his own heroic race against time. Recorded in a span of only three weeks, (with additional music from Joel McNeely), Air Force One stands out as one of the signature highlights in Jerry Goldsmith’s unparalleled career. In this action drama, Harrison Ford plays James Marshall, a onetime combat hero in the Vietnam War who is now President of the United States. Communist Radicals hijack Air Force One with Marshall and his family on board. The President must use his strength and intelligence to keep the terrorists at bay and devise a plan to allow his family to escape to safety, while on the ground the vice-president (Glenn Close), the secretary of defense (Dean Stockwell), and the attorney general (Philip Baker Hall) grapple over what to do and how much control to take in this crisis. I'm curious who produced this set? Who assembled it? Who mastered it? Who did the artwork? Who wrote the liner notes? I believe LLL & Intrada always tell us those things up front. Disco Stu 15,495
It kinda seems like McNeely deserved a main co-composing credit given how many of these cues he's credited on.
Jay 37,352
Interestingly only one track is credited to him alone Kinda funny that Varese only gives us 5 samples, and 3 of them are just OST tracks. Yavar Moradi

Edmilson 7,436
Not sure if I like this of putting the Film Versions as bonus tracks, and not on the main program. Unless in cases in which the film versions are editorially created by music editors, and therefore weren't recorded like that by the composer, I prefer them on the main program and the alternate versions as bonus. Yavar Moradi 2,599
Bryon has worked at Varese for years and produced quite a few albums, some with Peter Hackman who departed Varese at the same time as Townson. Cary has worked at Varese since even before Bob Townson, I think. He’s just now taking over the Club releases as head honcho, I guess. Brundlefly 2,385
Hmm, that would not make much sense. The DEs of Executive Decision and Chain Reaction are both consistently louder than the OSTs. Not to do the same thing with Air Force One kills the shuffle function. Of course, but I appreciate it that (or if) they keep those things relatively consistent (naturally to varying degrees, depending on the score itself). The old FSM releases were all incredibly loud in comparison, so that you had to turn the volume up and down, when you had several albums (with releases by other labels) in your playlist using the shuffle function.
