Arpy 4,178
No pre-orders over here in Oz yet either. I would've thought retailers would have the score up around about now. crumbs
crumbs 15,367
Yeah it's weird the score is nowhere to be found on retail websites or even the usual streaming services like iTunes/Apple Music. There's not even a release date for international markets, so December 18 could well be the first time anyone hears the score (Australians at 12.01am Thursday).  Didn't iTunes at least have a placeholder tracklist at this point for TLJ, with nameless tracks? Maybe they finalised the OST really late because JW wanted to include cues he recorded in the final session. Arpy
aj_vader 573
I'm seeing it Midnight on the 19th, this will likely be the first time I will be going in cold.  I never really take the movie in when I see it first time, I'm usually distracted by the score, listening for themes. #themejunky
Miz 145
Blatantly gonna listen to the The Last JW SW Score on it's own before seeing the film. His musical storytelling is unsurpassed and it's such a purely musical journey that it can only be listened to before the film, and never unheard after associated with the images. Accordingly, my cinema tickets will be booked later than the immediate rush to the release showings.

Popular Post crumbs 15,367
Yes, the pure references to older material have likely been snipped out (not listening to the FYC but I'm told most cues finish abruptly). It makes sense that FYC lengths have diminished over the course of the trilogy, considering the majority of the new themes were introduced in TFA. Tiburon, Sunshine Reger, Jost1 and 1 other

Popular Post Ricard 2,282
Quote  Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Original Motion Picture Soundtrack From Oscar®-Winning Composer John Williams  DIGITAL SOUNDTRACK SET FOR RELEASE DECEMBER 18  PHYSICAL ALBUM AVAILABLE DECEMBER 20  PRE-ORDER AVAILABLE NOW  BURBANK, Calif., Dec. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Walt Disney Records is set to release the original motion picture soundtrack for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The album features a new score conducted and composed by five-time Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker digital soundtrack is set for release on December 18 and the physical album will be available on December 20 as the film opens in U.S. theaters nationwide.  From the physical album's liner notes, director J.J. Abrams said, "Once again, John has come up with an utterly stunning soundtrack, creating brand new, gorgeous, frightening, mysterious, epic and intimate themes while also revisiting some of his greatest, classic melodies. My gratitude toward John Williams cannot be overstated — not just for elevating every scene in this film, but for providing us all with soundtracks that elevate our lives."  John Williams stated in the album's liner notes, "More than 40 years ago, George Lucas introduced to the world his singular imagination, his ingenuity and his creative genius. He also gave me an opportunity never before enjoyed by an operatic or film composer…the chance to work continually for four decades on a single project, and with each film, to add to a collection of musical themes which I hope will be seen as parts of a singular, organic whole."  "This experience has been one of the highlights of my professional life, bringing me so much joy in working with some of the world's greatest orchestras and musicians. I stand before the now completed nine Star Wars films with pride and gratitude for the gift of this extraordinary journey."  Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Original Motion Picture soundtrack will be available to stream and download on December 18. The physical album will be available on December 20 and is now available for pre-order.  https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-from-oscar-winning-composer-john-williams-300972880.html    SteveMc, The Illustrious Jerry, _deleted_ and 9 others

Sony must have hired a new art direction team sometime between 2002 and 2005, because a lot of Sony CD releases all conformed to a unified house style round about 2004 that I noticed with Spider-Man 2, then the same spine font showed up in The Legend of Zorro in 2005.
