Popular Post MainTitle 37
Maurizio did a great job co-hosting this informative and entertaining podcast along with Tim Burden. Fantastic to hear Mike speak at length and in depth about the importance of this landmark release. It was very enlightening listening to how the three scores came to fruition and what was essentially the impetus to have it presented in a definitive box set. On a personal note I was very pleased to have been given a shout out by Mike himself, as I am the Australian fan he speaks of towards the end of the podcast. 😁 TownerFan, Demondm810 and aescalle 2

Patiently awaiting my notice... If you also ordered "Karate Kid" I believe both won't ship until the 16th. If you have only ordered the box set be patient; maybe they are slightly overwhelmed with orders for this and other Black Friday releases. That's to be expected owing to the popularity of these forthcoming titles. No doubt the LLL mail room employees are doing their best to get all pre-orders out before they break for the holidays at the end of next week. Customer Service at this company is just simply among the the best there is and usually for us Australians, the delivery is fairly quick once they depart from L.A. However , the only variable to contend with is to factor in Christmas rush and the fact that most postal systems around the world will be working diligently to avoid any potential delays. Unfortunately it is the time of year when things can happen outside of our control though. We've waited this long. The CDs will be here before we know it. 🎁 Arpy

THE PAPER CHASE, SPACECAMP, THE BOOK THIEF and THE POST all have perfect soundtracks already. But I'm curious about CONRACK. Off the top of my head (it's been a while since I saw the movie last), I'm guessing there is about 15 minutes worth of score(?) in addition to the "Main Titles" that has already been released. Perhaps not even that much. So if it were released, it would probably be coupled with something else.

Very romantic. Different feeling than the original OST. For Conrack there is a good idea of the score on the Isolated and fx track in the Twilight Bluray edition. A simple and peacefull score.. I also like that the film has so little score; it heightens the dynamic between Voight and his illiterate pupils without any "rhetoric force" to guide you. I might be one of the few JW fans more excited about this box set than about the Harry Potter box set from last year. Sue me, Potterheads! I feel vindicated to hear official confirmation from Mike that the Earthquake album was indeed a rerecording, something I have insisted to be the case since I first saw the film but have been told was not a rerecording when this subject has been discussed before on this forum. The Eiger Sanction is another similar example and I wouldn't mind betting that is another one that Mike is working on. Popular Post Jay 37,346
I finally got to listen to the podcast and yup it sure is great. I was very happy to hear it started with 45 minutes of discussion of Monsignor and Minority Report, that was a pleasant surprise! But the Disaster Movie Collection portion of the podcast which takes up about an hour sure was cool, especially the way Mike reveals to a flabbergasted Maurizio and Tim that it was Williams himself that asked for the three to be boxed together (it's a shame Maurizio already spoiled that tidbit ahead of the episode's release). He also talks about the elements found for each title, the differences between working on all the different materials, all the various studios and entities involved, and lots more. Even if you don't like listening to people talk about film scores like this, if you want to hear more of the music of this box set while you wait for your copy to arrive, there's plenty of lengthy clips here, which sound great - you can really tell how much of an improvement Mike made to all 3 scores.
