I see. Dream Country is one of the best pieces JW wrote in a long time. I would recommend it to anyone who loves great old school JW orchestration.

I dunno , my main problem with BFG is Williams teases the themes but never delivers a full on  rendition

It's a tough choice, but I'm going to have to go with Rey's Theme, with March of the Resistance as a very close second.  My two favorite themes of the sequel trilogy.

Honorable mention to The Battle of Crait (especially the first half).

Thematically, in Dream Country he delivers at 9’30.

Its worth it giving the piece another try.

It’s first class trademark JW underscoring.

When I saw the tracklist for The BFG, I imagined that Dream Country was comprised of different cues from different places of the movie, and not a whole "sequence", because JW is not used to write 10 min + pieces of continuous music, right? I mean, there's the climax of ET, Battle of Hoth, Quidditch Match, climax of Hook, and not much else, I think... right?

Dream Country is comprised of 8 cues

  • 0:00-3:29 = 3M23 Dream Country
  • 3:29-5:47 = 3M24 It's A Fizz Wizard [4:00-4:40 = 3M24 Insert The Origin of Dreams]
  • 5:47-6:35 = 3M24B Presenting The Dream
  • 6:35-6:59 = 3M24A Sophie's Dream
  • 6:59-8:08 = 3M24AR Chasing Dreams
  • 8:08-end = 3M25 Catching a Bad Dream [3M25 Insert Bad Dream Insert is in here somewhere too]

I haven't heard all of John Williams' scores last decade, so I can't fully weigh in.  I don't think Force Awakens would've been as successful as it was without Rey's theme.  John Williams' music for the characters gave them the definition that the mystery box storytelling methodology did not.
