igger6 894
Whoa! That was...not well acted. But with a little spit-shine on the writing and those production values, that could have been awesome!

Manakin Skywalker 4,889
That looks exactly like a shitty fan film from last decade. No wonder it was cancelled. CG is awful, acting is terrible, camera work is sub-par, etc.
rough cut 1,714
Wow, I think you guys are a bit harsh considering it is test footage.

True, but I mean the whole point of test footage like this is to showcase the best possible technology to estimate a budget. If this is the best CG, camera work, etc. they were able to afford, then that's pretty bad.
Laserschwert 473
Thank god this didn't get made. And thanks to the advances in technology that The Mandalorian looks so much better than this. I mean, a show shot entirely on green screen? This was bound to fail. Manakin Skywalker

Nah, I don’t think it necessarily had to end up looking like this. Test footage is test footage - not necessarily the same as the end produc - more likely is that production value all around would get a significant bump up if the show would have been green lit. Test footage is just as likely to be a show reel to get a grasp of the feeling in the show and to answer “can we pull it off?” - both technology-wise as well as market-wise.
