Popular Post Smeltington 1,436
"The Brannigan" from 1941, based on the traditional Irish tune "The Rakes of Mallow". I love how there's a JW tune, or entire score, for all occasions! A. A. Ron, Dr. Rick and Martinland
Falstaft 2,132
You might also want to include some material from JFK, in which Williams aimed to "reference [Kennedy's] Irish ancestry..." There's also this -- I suppose more Herefordian than Irish given the movie, but not a huge substantive difference for Williams. Same goes for the quotation of "Spanish Lady" in Jaws. Thor 7,490
Not JW's compositions, but a couple of Irish-themed tunes on his POPS BRITANNIA album with the Boston Pops: https://www.deccaclassics.com/en/cat/4787174 (also includes a suite from Williams' own JANE EYRE, but that's obviously English, not Irish). Naïve Old Fart 9,512
Today, it has to be ANGELA'S ASHES... ...and a couple of Donal and Connal videos - "I'm gonna stab yer in the face, Patrick"
Josh500 1,615
Angela's Ashes and Far and Away! I'll spend the whole time listening to these two scores. They remind me of an easier, happier, more carefree time... Although the characters in these movies go through some serious struggles, of course.
