Opera is entirely different. Opera is primarily meant to be heard and seen. A novel is meant to be read. Movies or shows or series or plays or operas based on novels can be created and they have soundtracks released. But a properly only and only meant to be consumed as a written text does not. Atleast not to my knowledge. A novel... is a novel. 36 minutes ago, Fal J. M. Popular Post TheAvengerButton 175
I absolutely adore this soundtrack, and I've always enjoyed Joel McNeely's Williams-esque work in general. It's just so damn good. I don't think there has been a composer yet who has captured the spirit of the music of the original trilogy films like McNeely has, besides to a lesser degree Griskey in his video game scores or Powell in Solo. Not too crazy texturing, focus on simple, melody-driven pieces as opposed to the prequel style-more frantic, more kinetic energy. Shadows of the Empire did a lot to shape my love of Williams himself growing up to now, so I owe it a lot when it comes to my love of William's own music and music composition in general.
