The Rare Breed

I am new to the group and would love to get your input on topics.  Does anyone know if there are plans to release "The Rare Breed" full score?  There is a suite released on a Prague 2 CD set from a few years ago, but that seems to be it.  I love the score and film.  Did the master tapes come up missing or are there problems with the rights?  Just curious if anyone knows anything?  Thanks in advance.

The good news is that Intrada found the tapes for this (and also Story of a Woman) at Universal, and pursued a release. The bad news is that John Williams himself nixed the release. Mike Matessino has expressed some hope of eventually changing his mind.

As it stands, the THE RARE BREED suite, is a good, and well performed piece of work.

So JW has "nixed" it, has he?

Damn that John Williams! Who the hell does he think he is?!

Thanks for the info.  It is a shame because this score fits nicely into the composers timeline in relation to the Cowboys film.  For now, the suite will have to suffice.
