Popular Post Falstaft 2,132
A lovely treat, listen to this!: Arranged by Richard (Gus) Sebring, principal horn player of the Pops. Unfortunately marred by the same excision of the middle episode that JW's performances of the theme have lately tended to inflict on the piece. But otherwise gorgeous! TheUlyssesian 2,473
Luke and Leia was in Empire Strikes Back? Guess I might have missed it. DrTenma
Edmilson 7,398
Beautiful arrangement! But why didn't anyone notice that Luke and Leia is a theme for Return of the Jedi, not Empire?

pete 906
Listening again, he didn't actually say Luke and Leia is from Empire. I think he just mentioned Empire becuase that is what they had been looking forward to. Then he said "one of John's most gorgeous and evocative movie cues" -not specifically that it was one of Empire's most evocative cues.
A. A. Ron 1,740
The only thing Keith said that was wrong was that "Luke and Leia" is a "film cue." As an aside, I'd rather just watch the musicians than all that weird space imagery. Lovely arrangement though. I'll buy it in a heartbeat if and when it gets a commercial release. Well, the end credits adaptation of the arrangement is.
Popular Post rpvee 805
My favorite Star Wars theme! I love how it’s made a comeback in recent years, including that gorgeously slower, sadder statement in The Last Jedi. My favorite Williams memory is jumping to my feet for a standing ovation after the piece finished at Tanglewood last year, and as Williams turned to face the audience, he looked at me and raised his arms with a big smile to match my enthusiasm. TheUlyssesian 2,473
Never noticed this before but - See the 5 notes on Horn here - Seems like it is about to launch into the Zorro theme. Did Horner do a rip off or was inspired.

Let's be careful who we accuse of ripping stuff off though: wouldn't want the Leonard Bernstein fans to start dragging JW for doing the same!... DrTenma 116
Apart of how weird is that they mislabelled the theme as part of Empire, is a very beautiful arrangement.
