How do the experienced members here purchase their copies of the soundtracks? What is the best method for collection? Particularly for rare recordings ... Are there some sources in particular that are good for rare CDs for example

Hello from NYC by the way.

The best bet is to buy them directly from the labels

http://www.quartetrecords.com

http://www.musicbox-records.com

The sooner you order them after they are announced, the less you risk them selling out before you get one.

If you're too late and they've gone Out Of Print, your best bet is to search Amazon, eBay, or Discogs.com, or try the few online stores remaining that specialize in movie soundtracks

Thanks Jay!

I was just about to pay $20 for an item on DISCOGS I just found on MM for $5!

You da man!😍

It might be worth noting that Peter Kelly, owner of MovieMusic, became a massive and vocal Trump supporter in recent years, if that matters to you

And if I can give you a collecting advice, buy the most recent released expansions first, then go after previously released expansions.

Those things goes OOP quicker than the misery on poor people!

I've had good luck finding rarities on eBay, but Discogs sometimes has better prices than eBay. There is also the Marketplace forum on this very site. I've not used it yet, but there have been times I missed out on a CD I'd have liked because I came across a post too late.
