Silvestri's Mission Impossible theme arrangement

Erich Kunzel re-rec. from 1997 credits Silvestri. Was it supposed for De Palma movie? Or is it even true that this is his arrangement? Because you can check some tracks from leaked unused Silvestri score. I can actually see it coming from him, because it sounds very much like Silvestri's signature sound.

Even if it's not, by far best rendition I've ever heard.

Update: it's him. There is shorter version on bootleg and it repeats orchestration of this version.

Yes, the rejected score has been floating around in bootleg land for two decades now. Some parts of it actually ended up in Silvestri's ERASER. I've always kinda liked it. It's lean and mean.

As for theme variations, I do think the Mullen/Clayton version that ended up in the film is one of the best out there.

Silvestri's arrangement was also re-recorded by Joel McNeely for the Hollywood '96 CD Varese Sarabande put out

If anyone likes "The Plot" theme, I made a post showcasing how Elfman, Giacchino, and Kraemer each worked with it here:

I had that compilation once upon a time. Don't know what happened to it, if I sold it or what. It was quite good. Maybe it got away because I got all the titles featured there on their own soundtrack albums instead. I remember it caused a bit of a fuss, due to the cover art, which was deemed one of the worst of all time.

I've always love his version of the main theme and the plot theme heard in this track:

Romao, that is not a part of Silvestri's score!  Some bootlegs must include it as a bonus track or something.  That's an arrangement performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from the "Hollywood Blockbusters" CD

Sorry, my bad. Be as it may, it still is a kick ass arrangement

Is that section something Schifrin came up during his work on the original series, or a later embellishment by an arranger?
