Turbo 54
Last night I was thinking of the many ways people organize their scores and was wondering if anybody had a playlist of JW scores on the year the films were based. In a way to see the progression of his themes and music through time in a different sense. As an example: Star Wars - A Long Time Ago The Patriot - 1776 Schindler's List - 1939 The Book Thief - 1939 The Post - 1971 A.I. - 22nd Century Admittedly some movies would ideally be based when they were actually filmed or released, E.T. as an example. Now I'll admit this wouldn't be easy and not even necessary but it seemed like an interesting idea. Thoughts?
Jay 37,359
I had the idea many years ago to watch through Spielberg's entire filmography by the year the film was set, rather than the order they came out. I never got around to it though. I'd never want to rearrange my CD shelves based on the era the film is set in. That seems weird to me
Thor 7,503
Weird indeed. But it could be an interesting idea for a playlist or something.
Once 605
I think this type of organizing would be very interesting if each score was based on or explored the the style of music from the time period its movie was set in. Few of Williams's scores really do that, though.
