Dole 17
Just read in my local paper that Erich Kunzel and the National Symphony Orchestra will be doing a tribute to the music of John Williams as part of the Pops Goes the Fourth Independence Day celebration in Washington D.C. The 90 minute concert will be broadcast on PBS on Friday July 4. Dole
Lurker 5
Fabulous! Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to tape that special. Did they say what pieces would be performed?Neil
Dole 17
Did they say what pieces would be performed? No. The article simply identified Williams as the composer of Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Schindler's List. Williams conducted the NSO in January so maybe they'll so a piece or two that he performed with them.Dole
Lurker 5
I don't think Schindler's List will be played at a July 4th concert. My guess would be Superman or maybe even 1941. Of course there are many non-film score related pieces by him that could be played. I guess we'll find out.Neil
