I think that's all, but let me know if I've forgotten someone.

@Glóin the Dark, it would be interesting to hear your piece in a somewhat slower tempo. And strictly speaking, the competition asked for a piece for one person, which implies that a person should be able to play it. :)

But no limitation on the number of digits allowed to be used, right, as long as they all belong to the player?

(Just kidding - I'm quite happy to be disqualified!)

I included you in the poll nonetheless.

Gkgyver's beautiful oboe piece is currently in the lead! Just shows that a piece for one performer doesn't have to be for piano to be interesting.

Typical that a person on my ignore list wins this!

Darn! I was going to vote for you; you know, a sympathy vote.😗

I think only professional music critics should be allowed to vote.

So, that means me...m

maybe Thor....and possibly Erik Woods.

We will announce the winner 12/30.

Good luck to the contestants!😁

Shark, is that a Yamaha electric piano you play?

I'm having problems with playback of some pieces like Geratewhol....Manakin....Bounty😞

Especially considering its quality....or, lack thereof.....

That's crappy midi piano sound, as played by the Sibelius notation software. :D

Are you trying to play it on your mobile? These habe sometimes issues with these embedded links. If you don't want to installiert the app you can enlarge the quote, click once and then an option "listen in browser" should occur. Hope that helps.

By the way, Merry Christmas everyone.

I tried that. For some reason they don't play properly, but others do.

I'll try again.

As far a " bashing" goes....

THE ONLY person I would bash on this topic is Mgvyer. He deserves it for his constant trashing of Zimmer " whose boots he is not fit to lick"

You may bash in all the gazillion other JWFan threads as far as I'm concerned, but this thread is one of peace and harmony, and that's how I wish to keep it.

Ok . So.i went to the original thread and was able to play.first two.

Bounty, before I vote, do you want to try another download.

I want to give all pieces a listen before I pronounce the winner!

Alea iacta est - for the competition. I know.

And congratulations to who ever will be the winner.

Anyway, I revised my composition a little bit.

I still can't play it properly, but I like the piece better this way.

@Jurassic Shark This was really so much fun. Thanks to you, I might have a new hobby now. According to my skill level and my velocity and my sparetime I might be able write about 10 minutes of music per year.

Made it onto my list of new year's resolutions.

The only board timezone is for the leaderboard, which is UTC

For anything you do when logged in its the timezone of your profile AFAIK.. though if not, then poll deadlines would be UTC as well

I've made minor alterations to my own piece, I especially tried to improve the transitions between the main parts. You tell me whether I succeeded.

VOTING:

I hope more people can join the voting before the deadline at midnight on new year's eve. I have no idea which time zone we're following, but it's probably the time wherever @Ricard happens to be. So if you're bored during this Covid Christmas and want some new impulses, check out the ten entries and vote. I'm looking at you, @mstrox, @Marcus, @Smeltington, @Ollie, @karelm, @Falstaft, @Disco Stu, @Ludwig, @Nils, @Edmilson, @Romão, @thx99, @Bayesian, @Omen II, @Pieter Boelen, @Erik Woods, @Marian Schedenig@Yavar Moradi, @Arpy, @Chen G., @Nick Parker, @Tom Guernsey, @Chewy, @bollemanneke, @JTWfan77, @Miguel Andrade, @Incanus, @Once, @Muad'Dib, @filmmusic, @crocodile@Amerand everybody else who might be interesting in listening to our minor efforts.

I’ve never been in this thread before!  If I find the time to listen to all the entries, I’ll vote!
