mxsch 115
I'm looking for action scores with good themes and not dull underscore. It will be great if it includes couple or more lengthy bombastic tracks. All composers, except Davis, Debney, Silvestri, Elfman, Arnold, Shore, Powell and JW because I've listened all from them with this criterias. Thor 7,466
Those are very broad parameters. I would also need to know what style we're talking about. I can glean from the composers you mention that you're primarily looking for orchestral action scores, perhaps? Also, while 'action' is considered a genre, you can also have scores in other genres that have a busy soundscape, be it westerns or fantasy films or sci fis of whatever. Do they count too? A few off the top of my head that are orchestral, have a thematic base, are not by any of the composers you mention, have lengthy bombastic tracks and that are action-oriented in sound: ENTHIRAN - Rahman THE EAGLE - Örvarsson CONAN THE BARBARIAN - Poledouris STARSHIP TROOPERS - Poledouris YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES - Broughton HARD RAIN - Young THE MONKEY KING - Young THE GOONIES - Grusin MUSIC FROM THE FILMS OF STEVEN SEAGAL - Frank FIRE BIRDS - D. Newman THE PHANTOM - D. Newman THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO - Shearmur DEMOLITION MAN - Goldenthal BATMAN FOREVER & ROBIN - Goldenthal FINAL FANTASY - Goldenthal THE SEA HAWK - Korngold ROBIN HOOD - Korngold WE'RE NO ANGELS - Fenton TORPEDO - Hannes de Mayer WILLOW - Horner THE ROCKETEER - Horner THE MASK OF ZORRO - Horner AVATAR - Horner WATERWORLD - Howard DINOSAUR - Howard VERTICAL LIMIT - Howard HIDALGO - Howard THE WIND AND THE LION - Goldsmith THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY - Goldsmith FIRST BLOOD - Goldsmith KING SOLOMON'S MINES - Goldsmith THE MUMMY - Goldsmith TOTAL RECALL - Goldsmith THE EDGE - Goldsmith KULL THE CONQUEROR - Joel Goldsmith IRON WILL - McNeely SQUANTO - McNeely SOLDIER - McNeely THE TIME MACHINE - Badelt AGE OF CONAN series - Haugen RAGNAROK - Beite TWISTER - Mancina THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE - Steiner KING KONG - Steiner ROBIN HOOD - Kamen THE THREE MUSKETEERS - Kamen THE THIEF OF BAGDAD - Rozsa SHIPWRECKED - Doyle BRAVE - Doyle RUBINROT - Kölmel DAYLIGHT - Edelman THE QUEST - Edelman DRAGONHEART - Edelman LAWNMOWER MAN 2 - Folk ALEXANDER NEVSKY - Prokofiev NATE AND HAYES - Jones AROUND THE WORLD in 80 DAYS - Jones

GerateWohl 4,338
For good quality adventure scores I would like to throw in one of my favourites from the time when I was starting to listen to motion picture soundtracks: Clash of the Titans from Lawrence Rosental. Haven't listened to it in years. And I think, James Newton Howard's King Kong is worth mentioning as well.
