So...who’s gonna start a Kickstarter to do that? :) All of his written cues are waiting right here:

That seems to be right up your alley! :)

I don't like when they release an unfinished work from an artist. You can't release "sketches" or rough demos from an artist wihtout his consent, it has no sense. It's not respectuous.

Some composers or musicologists may have access to these sketches for an educationnal purpose, but that's all.

You never heard of SCHUBERT'S Unfinished Symphony?

Many famous composers had unfinished, unpublished, unperformed , posthumous releases.

You may want to delete your post, Bes😉😛

Is it legal to post these Spotify playlists?

". It's not respectuos".

I'm appropriating that word!😍😊

It wasn't legal when NAPSTER did it!😳😳

Napster was a file sharing service that many people chose to use to share copyrighted music with each other

Spotify is a legal streaming service that has legal contracts with the copyright holders of the music they have in their library

I'm basically listening to these albums for FREE. Even if it's only streaming.

Grey area.

For instance, I can stream music For FREE on YT, but it may be sponsored or have ads between tracks.

Holko' a WOTW is restore allows me to listen to the INTRADA album for free.

I'm not looking to get anybody in trouble, just curious how all this works.

Does this site pay ASCAP/BMI license?

There's nothing 'grey' or ambiguous about Spotify. You either pay to listen, or listen for free, but get ads between tracks. Not sure how embedded players work, but that's their problem to handle. Either way it's completely legal.

They do pay all publishing. This is why sound exchange exists.

Just because you see an embed in a JWFan post doesn't actually mean JWFan has anything to do with the process whatsoever.  If someone plops a Spotify playlist into a post, the embed content is entirely pulled off of Spotify's servers and if you press play, the transmission is going direct from Spotify to you.  Nothing from it goes onto JWfan's servers whatsoever

I assume rights holders can request they be taken down?

Of course they can

Drive doesn't bother with doing content/copyright checks. I guess if someone were to wander on here, the only place where they are linked, and saw them, and would really really report them or they were the rights holders, they could tell Drive and then they could maybe say "you were a bad boy, take those down".

It's really only YouTube which has any significant copyright 'police', and they just punish the uploader if they take something down.

Even if someone embedded the entire JW discography here, the worst that would happen is that someone noticed, reported it, and the uploader's account closed, leaving a lot of dead links here. (I mean, if JWFan were the uploader, things could get messy... but you get the idea - we're just viewing something available on public Internet)

No it's fair enough, and not always easy to understand.

I'm fairly sure that the only thing that could get JWFan in trouble would be hosting copyrighted materials directly on our server, and making it available.

Spotify is right at the 'correct' end of the spectrum - it's a legal streaming service, regardless of how you access it.

So, if someone wanted Holko banned, they could tattle?

Sample on Spotify, buy to support the artists IMO.

Yes, 'sample' is the key word for me. Spotify really exists as a way for me to decide whether I like something enough to buy it.

It's not even because of the pennies they give to artists (although that is a factor), but that I need to own my music on my own hard drive. I would never, ever maintain my music collection only on a streaming platform.
