7 Carolyn's Office (3:24)

  • 0:00-1:33 = cue3 Carolyn’s Office (Alternate)
  • 1:33-end = cue15 Carolyn's Apartment (Alternate)

The beginning of the Office portion phases so it's not a full alternate. This track is much longer than Office plus the non-alternate Apartment, and a section seems to match Boat Scene and no other cue. Doesn't it also have an alternate Boat Scene stuck to the end?

If it does then Jeff Bond's liner notes and/or the information he used to write them is wrong.

And yes the first 28 seconds of Carolyn's Office seem to have been kept when it was revised.

Thanks!

So, it's like I thought: Williams included in the OST too much music from reel 3, which is precisely the reel he should've avoided when curating the album, like I said here. Meanwhile, a lot of cool music from the first action scene at the beginning of the movie remains officially unreleased.

Wow, that's great! I've always wanted to analyze the OST album closer

I never noticed that part of the Main Title extension comes from Man Against Beast!

I think it's a shame he didn't re-record Father and Son for the score album, that's one of my favorite cues in the score

I wish he had rerecorded that, maybe extending it for the OST (and also The Pier Incident) then the album would be even more perfect.

Do we have a breakdown for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, like if I want to listen to a "shorter" program of the expanded set?

Your spreadsheet for Azkaban is different, there are OST cues I can't match like "Secrets of the castle" or "Hagrid the professor", etc. :(

"Secrets of the Castle" is "The Great Hall Ceiling" followed by "Rainy Nights, Dementors and Birds"

"Hagrid The Professor" is "Sir Cadogan" followed by "The Hippogriff Lesson"

That's an Additional track, what's its equivalent in the score?

The track "The Patronus Light" appears in the additional tracks. So which track or tracks of the score represent the best the material used in this track, which explain why they put this track in the additional material... it's because it's already in the score, no?

"The Patronus Light" is one of the choir layers of the New Ending recorded for "Watching The Past", artificially extended with looping.

The full New Ending (brass + multiple choir layers) appears at the end of the LLL track "Watching The Past", and was already on the OST in "Finale"

Why did Williams take one of the choir layers from the New Ending, have it extended with loops, and put into its own track for the OST album?  No idea.

Added the most up-to-date version of the Last Crusade OST breakdown to the main post.

At some point I'll get around to adding all the other breakdowns that have been posted throughout this thread into the main post, then maybe it'll be easier to see which ones we don't have yet.
